I think about how sweet Obito was, kind and caring and then remembered when he ruthlessly killed Konan. I wonder if he gets those murderous intentions still after Kakashi harbors him in his house in Diplopia. These two have dragged me back into their hell. I love them and miss Diplopia alot.

It’s true. We don’t tell you ahead of time but at 30, every person is required to go through the Adult Transmogriffier. Basically you step inside this box and it sucks out every interest, hobby, and talent you ever had, and replaces it with babies, mortgages, concerns about taxes, and one of those daily tear-off calendars full of quirky cartoon characters who hate Mondays.

I hope you’re doing ok?!? This year is a clusterfuck... there’s been some good but the bad just keeps on steamrolling 😐 can we get a break? I was just rereading diplopia (for like the hundredth time) and it’s such an amazing distraction... Thank you for putting such a captivating and absorbing story out there! It’s the true face of kakaobi and nobody else has come close to capturing it like you have. Stay gold 💕

Sex

//Obito’s sexual life/experience is a very complicated creature. I’ll break it down in sections.

Intimacy

The whole idea of intimacy is off-putting to Obito. He pretty much directly equates love with loss. The idea of losing himself in love and risking the trauma of Rin’s death ever again is unthinkable to him. He distrusts the very idea of love (at least in this world). He’s become a creature that thrives on control, and he believes that, even if it’s just a little, having sex involves surrendering control.

As I write him for RP/fic purposes, I think of him as being someone who was probably developing in a typical way up until Rin’s death. He’d been a pretty romantic little boy, probably just getting to discover his sex drive/sexuality at all. (Probably chronically spanked it in Madara’s cave while the Zetsus weren’t looking, haha…!) Afterward though, the person he’d been projecting those feelings onto became the central trigger point for all his PTSD/UchihaCray ™ so, understandably, the associated sex/intimacy/love feelings became quite damaged.

He’s not likely to trust anyone—and it’s a practical thing as well as a personal thing for him. When you’re trying to operate largely in secret to dismantle the underpinnings of your entire world, letting anyone in is a massive risk. He couldn’t risk compromising himself or his intel just because he put false trust in someone. He doesn’t trust another person not to hurt him (deliberately or not). 

Never getting hurt is an unrealistic expectation when you’re dealing with love, sex, or intimacy… and Obito knows this. So he’d rather just opt out altogether. Stick to the plan, focus on the ultimate goal.

**It’s worth noting as well that I don’t think he has any sort of sexual feeling toward Rin any longer. She’s his symbol now, his patron saint. Her kindness and fundamental goodness is what he’s trying to preserve. It’s not about being with her, it’s about recreating what she meant to him.**
