The Leather Photoshoot

A model calls in sick the morning 'Runway' has to do a photoshoot featuring Chanel's new leather collection. Luckily, Nigel is here to save the day, and sees this crisis as an opportunity to try to get Miranda and Andy together.

Andy's career is starting to take off, and decides to write an article on dating apps, focusing on the experiences gay women have with them. She has plenty of material to use, since her love life sucks, especially when it comes to using the mentioned apps. She is determined to take her frustration and make something productive out of it. What she does not know is her former Boss, aka the Dragon Lady, also reads "The Mirror" and may see her article.

A Sapphic Nightmare Before Christmas (Online Dating AU 3)

Andy had survived working at 'Runway' so far. There is just one thing she wished she had for Christmas: a girlfriend. She decides to try online dating, and luckily, her friend Serena is willing to lend a helping hand (not everybody seems to be happy about this situation though).

Runway's Editor-in-Chief, Miranda Priestly, and a no-nonsense clerk from London, Emily Charlton, impulsively swap houses for two weeks over Christmas to escape their chaotic lives.

AO3 tip to stop seeing s...

I knew we can block and mute users on AO3, but I've had the misfortune of seeing some shit searching for new fics and I didn't know that we can also stop seeing anything posted by non-registered users, like Anonymous in this case.

I'm well-aware different people can post under Anonymous, but I'll rather not see the b*stard I'm referring to spamming our ship tag, even if that means seeing less works by other users who want to remain anonymous. I don't see the point of being anonymous when you can simply make up a name like everybody does anyway 🤷‍♀️

So, if you want to stop seeing something written by anyone who doesn't have a username and therefore there's no option to mute or block their a****, go to More Options and you'll see one called Search within results. Write a dash followed by that account's name and a comma right after if you wanna keep adding more people (same thing we do with registered users), I tried it and it works:

If you wanna exclude several usernames at once, just write the names in that box like this:

-Anonymous, -Atrocius, -WTFisThisShit,

Voilá! You won't think of using bleach in your eyes anymore! :D

This story will be divided into 2 chapters because I also want to make fanart that's key to the story. In fact, it'll be based on the thing that gave me the idea to write this story in the first place last summer, when they were shooting the sequel. I want to make 1 or 2 illustrations I'll add to Chapter 2 during the next days, when I write that second chapter.

Today's my birthday 🍰 (that's what gave me the idea for something that happens regarding the twins) and there are people coming over in a few minutes, so I can't write Chapter 2 nor draw. Otherwise, I would post the entire thing today. Enjoy! 🥰

Things I won't tolerate in fandoms as a lesbian

Weirdos using the hashtag of our ship (#MirAndy) saying stupid stuff like 'hot take, my ship is better than yours' literally who tf do you think you are? We don't give a f, you're irrelevant, get out of our hashtag 🖕

People who don't use the hashtag with the name of a fanfic that isn't purely lesbian and their posts keep coming up in my feed. I've had to unfollow users (fortunately only a couple or three) due to this. Not everybody likes the same stuff. I don't want to keep reading anything related to certain fanfics:

Use the name of the stories you're talking about in the hashtags, ffs.

Stories in which Miranda or Andy have slept with m🤢n. I am a lesbian, I don't give a damn about canon. Any character I ship will be a lesbian, or bi without having to be with men; the latter are literally into women too, so why the f*** would I wanna read wlw stories if you're gonna throw straight s*** in them? There's enough f/m already, my God! Congrats on contributing to this lesbophobic society, here's a cookie, idk. (Not to mention those adding r*pe to their stories, YOU ARE SICK! I had to make a blacklist.) And that's why I appreciate it when people say in their bio if they're lesbians, I know they won't give me that f/m bs.

Not using the tags in AO3 properly, which is related to the point above. If you use f/m apart of f/f, I can exclude those damn fics with straight men in them so that I don't have to see them in my results. Out of sight, out mind, everybody wins.

People who won't read (this is more generic). There are always people asking for the name of shows, movies, etc. when it's in the caption and there are hashtags as well and they refuse to READ, maybe their heads will explode if they do, my God!

Users who ignore the very thing you asked for. If I ask for a lesbian story, DON'T RECOMMEND ONE WITH MEN who are IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE WOMEN! Did you not get enough oxygen when you were born or do you like trolling lesbians? That earns you a block, obviously.

I know I'm not alone in this thanks to having talked to other MirAndy stans and in previous fandoms I've been in, like SuperCorp and Bechloe. I wish things would change, but that depends on people's use of social media and many don't give a damn, so we have to unfollow, block or silence people or exclude stuff in AO3.

I'm so sick of seeing people writing Miranda's last name the wrong way... is it so difficult to check the spelling of a character you like?

Well, some are simply posting about her on Insta taking DWP as a trend to get views and likes easily, now that the sequel has happened. But that's no excuse, it's a f... proper name, learn how to spell it, my God!

It's like some English native speakers not knowing their grammar (grammar, NOT grammer: I've seen that multiple times on social media):

-Your is a possessive determiner/adjective.

-You're is a contraction of: You are -> subject + verb.

It's not Your misspelling Miranda's last name.

It's: You're misspelling Miranda's last name.

Repeat after me: Miranda Priestly -> not Priestley, Pristly or other sh...

Same thing with then and than:

-Then: time adverb -> If you're not sure about how to spell her last name, then look it up on google.

-Than: comparative adjective -> Miranda is better than any male love interest they give Andy Sachs. If Andrea dated Miranda, then she and the fandom would be happier.

Just learned in the final scene of DWP, after Miranda smiles at seeing Andy from inside her car and says "Go!" to Roy, the car goes but WITHOUT HER INSIDE, WHAAT??

And just like that, MirAndy had a cup of coffee, and Andy thanked Miranda for sending a letter of recommendation to The Mirror. That evening, they walked Patricia with the twins, who were very excited to see 'Potter girl' again.
