Percy in the show isn't that ooc. it's just that we can't see his thoughts anymore, so we're viewing him how everyone else saw him.
The big difference between the Percy Jackson movies and show:
Percy Jackson movies: *makes changes that actively confuse me as a fan of the books* Did the people making the movies actually read the books or did they just read the Wikipedia synopsis and wing the rest of it?
Percy Jackson show: *makes changes that make absolute sense to me as a fan of the books and actually improves on the source material* Demonstrating Percy's fatal flaw in a way that has real repercussions, giving more focus to Annabeth and Luke and changing their dynamic to be more sibling-esque, amplifying the Percy and Thalia parallels, fleshing out characters and emphasizing their backstories, "boon".
That episode is about Percy's evolution in the Olympia-- Psych! It's all about Annabeth. Well, 80% about Annabeth.
I talk about how Percy is realizing that parenting à la god sucks, and how Annabeth is trying really, really hard to be as perfect as her big sister was and her mom expects her to be.
How she has to deal with other people's opinon of Athena, how Percy keeps accidentally hurting her but she's trying to act like she doesn't care, how she's reliving the nightmare of the last time she was out of camp. How saving Percy from Alecto is her way to avenge Thalia.

do u draw pjo?? i saw some of ur art on pinterest but im not sure
I DO! I've posted a couple of illustrations that made the rounds (mainly this first one) I want to keep making things for pjo 💕
(I never posted the second piece so ta-da, it's a little old tho)
i remember in hoo it says that charmspeak doesnt work on someone who isn’t attracted to the person doing the charmspeak. so in season 2 of pjo, clarisse, percy, and tyson come across an aphrodite kid and he tries to charmspeak his way out of the situation and it doesnt work on clarisse. sapphic clarisse confirmed??
(ik she canonically has a bf but let me be deluded 🫰)
It never actually says that it's a requirement just that it makes it easier. Drew intentionally, Piper accidentally, charmspeak their own siblings. Like sapphic Clarisse is more than valid, her having a boyfriend doesn't invalidate it, but this isn't proof of it
leahbeth haters are only upset because they cant see a smart person as black i just cant prove it
i want to go down in history as that one insane pjo artist (WIP BTW)
(i stopped working on this hours ago but forgot to share here)
“Taking a page from the novel, Scobell confirms that season 3 begins with a “tiny time skip” that will shed light on how Percy is handling the return of Thalia (Tamara Smart) after the daughter of Zeus (Courtney B. Vance) was revived using the Golden Fleece last season. Spoiler alert: not well.
“They are both, as far as they know, the only children of the Great Prophecy, and therefore now it’s a question of not just who is going to be the hero of prophecy and going to save or destroy Olympus, but is it going to be me or you?” he says of the duo. “And you throw into that mix that they don’t really know each other, and that the one person who connects them is Annabeth, and Annabeth is taken away… They both care about her, they’re both not sure about each other, but they have to stand shoulder-to-shoulder and figure out how to work with each other.”

humbling realization 😔
I saw this, and was inspired by a classic
Have the a-town writers ever been inspired to make any of the bs plots Rachel cites in her interviews (when asked about the show) canon?
[For those of you just tuning in: A-Town is the shitty postwar sitcom inspired by the life of Jake Berenson, to the eternal annoyance of Jake Berenson.]
Oh my god, like when Megamorphs 4 was inspired by a crappy AniTV episode to do the same premise better? I love this, not in the least because Rachel would find it infuriating.
Interviewer: So. A-Town. How do you feel about that cutie Trina?
Rachel: Oh yeah. That episode where she gave birth to a pterodactyl has always been a favorite of mine.
-- six weeks later --
Trina [bursting onto the set of the A family home]: Liam, oh Liam! I've had the most terrible morphing accident!
Liam [also in Brandon's house for some reason]: What is it, Trin? What happened?
Trina: M... morphing allergies!
Man in Pterodactyl Costume: [Enters]
Liam: Oh no!
Man in Pterodactyl Costume: EEeeeeeeEEEeeeEeeeek!
Liam: Oh NO! I'm not the father, am I?
Trina: Focus, Liam! What do we do? It's coming right at us!
Liam: I... I, uh... [calls upstairs] Daisy! There's a pterodactyl in the living room!
"Daisy" (Zeptron 420) [rushing down the stairs]: Andalite!
Man in Pterodactyl Costume: EEeeeeeeEEEeeeEeeeek!
"Daisy" [draws a knife]: ANDALITE! [runs at the pterodactyl]
[Zeptron 420 dive-tackles the pterodactyl; they fall off-set and out the As' front door. There are sounds of a scuffle, human and pterodactyl screeches, and then the sound of a human scream rising up into the sky as it gets further away.]
Liam [peering out the window]: Fiddlesticks! I didn't mean for it to carry her away! Oh well, one less controller to worry about.
Trina: My hero! [kisses him]
-- one week later--
"Daisy": [appears like nothing happened, showing no signs of having been killed/eaten recently, and never brings up the pterodactyl]
Jordan would figure out that Rachel has this effect on A-Town faster than Rachel herself does, because Rachel never watches the show (hence all the unconvincing lies). So it’d be Jordan’s fault that the next time Rachel gives an interview, she goes “Yeah, I love that one plot where the Trina-J.J.-Liam love triangle resolves itself through all three of them just becoming an item.”
Sadly, this doesn’t work — the producers will greenlight Liam dating his own stepsister, but not Liam dating another boy or two people at once. Still, Jordan insists, it was worth a try.
