Sony Music success at several music awards events
Sony Music Artists had a great showing during the recent award show season in Asia. Jason Chan, Phil Lam, Shandy Gan, Lillian Wong and Lil’ Ashes from ‘O.U.R. Works’ achieved tremendous success, and collectively took home 31 awards at numerous high-profile events. Phil Lam was one of the great success stories of the year winning an incredible 14 awards.
Phil’s song Alpine Valleys was a huge hit and saw him take home awards at several events including: Yahoo Buzz Awards, TVB Jade Solid Gold Awards, Metro Radio Hits Music Awards and Commercial Radio Ultimate Song Awards. Phil was humbled by these accolades and very grateful for all his success:
“2014 must be my lucky year, it has been great to receive so many awards. I would like to thank all the musicians involved in this project for their hard work and commitment, especially the producer Edward Chan. Edward is a phenomenal producer and really knows how capture the magic. I also need to thank Arahim Chan Wing Him who wrote the brilliant lyrics for Goodman, Alpine Valleys and Praise Poem. Without their help, I would not be standing here.”
In 2015 Phil will continue to write and perform music, something that is sure to please his legions of fans. Phil wants to share his music with as many people as possible, he is as inspired as ever and has plans to take his music to Taiwan.
In 2014, to the delight of their fans, Lil’ Ashes from ‘O.U.R. Works’ adopted a more Canto-pop influenced sound. The response to this was overwhelmingly positive and the band took home several best new talent and best group/band awards. Pollie and Jonathan from the band referenced their new song ‘Unicorn’ when accepting their award:
“We appreciate this award, we have no plans of slowing down and have a lot more that we would like to achieve.”
The duo promised that new music would be available shortly and thanked their fans, families and the musicians that have worked with them.
Shandy and Lillian from ‘O.U.R. Works’, and Jason Chan also won several major awards. They were thrilled to accept and said that fans can expect a big surprise in 2015!
