Literally coming back after being out of the galaxy for years because I want to reach out and cry with my enha writers group...
What goes on?
People may not understand or think it's dramatic to be so heartbroken over a member leaving a group but truly, it's not just about the fact that they left, it's about how memories involved and associated with them now have to be mourned.
It has to come with acceptance that what once was will no longer be. It's losing a piece of something you hold dear. When you hold something dear it doesn't have to be important or be valued by everyone, but losing a piece of it would be crushing regardless.
That aside, it's far, far worse seeing a member who brought you comfort, ease, and joy - especially in contexts around fellow members, have to depart. Yes, it may be parasocial, but that doesn't make the feelings experiences any less real.
Those who are fans of enhypen are already devastated, but those who biased or had a special place in their heart for Heeseung? I'm sharing my love and support with you because this is a tremendous shock. The odd circumstances definitely do not ease any concerns, either since it brings up several questions that probably won't be answered soon.
Heeseung departing also affects the group. Enhypen won't feel like enhypen without him. He is such a strong and distinct presence within the group. His vocals were almost a stamp within enhypen songs, and his style of performing was nothing short of extra in the best way. His personality also somewhat contrasted with the other members in aspects and it was always so interesting to see...
I feel like I'm reliving my experience when Wonho left monsta x (and the many other groups I stanned that had someone leave but that one hit me quite a bit when it occurred.) but back then it at least made sense after a while...
Anywho, I had to share my little spiel... To any of my old friends from the writing group. I hope you're doing okay :')
