Joan Didion, writing about the shock that followed after the death of her husband, John.
I used to dream of adventure
I used to dream of adventure, but not of adventures like exploring the dark of the oceans of the womder of the stars.
I used to dream of hiking into forests to meet the beings that lived within, to hear their stories and tell their tales.
I used to dream of climbing high into the mountains, seeing the beasts of the air riding the winds as they dropped just low enough for me to catch whispers of their joy.
I used to dream of crawling deep and low into the caves, where the light could not reach and yet life still found a way to thrive, their stories long and slow and yet somehow full of intrigue.
The dreams I once had of creating worlds with words are but a memory now. Long since faded and trodden upon by the world.
Now i lay in bed after using my time for those who never had to work hard and think nothing of the dreams of others, staring at a small screen in what little time I have to myself. I type out words in the hope that some small world can still be crafted by the remnants of those faded dreams.
I, to, used to dream of adventures. But those faded dreams only grow lighter with time. Hope keeps the embers alight, but the world keeps the kindling sparse.
"this version is bad!", "i don't claim this version!", "this version is better, this other version sucks!" hop off my goat!!!! you fucking loser!!!! they're all great!!!!!
what's the point of initiating conversations with people when 99.9% of them turn out to be normies
okay. how do I put this. if you approach interactions with strangers as if the vast majority of them are unbearable losers who aren't worth your time, you will find yourself not liking most of the people you meet because you'll be looking for any excuse to write them off as unbearable losers. I know this is hard to hear but sometimes the problem is you.
i got that dog in me but it's poorly socialized and i don't take it on as many walks as i should

Sometimes I feel my kindness is perfomativeā¦
Then I realise the other person doesnt know that and that it doesnt matter
oh my god. most of life really is about the little things. a good haircut, a nice playlist, trying a new recipe that turns out well, a poem that hits home, a comfortable spot in the sun, spontaneous messages, a pen you enjoy writing with, tea with the right temperature to drink, buying that thing youāve been eyeing for a while, a warm bed. yeah im so grateful for the small joys
ai could simply never create a body of fanfictional work that is so revealing about the author that it borders on humiliating.
seems like my dedication to my isolation isnāt going to save me. thatās crazyyyyy
Yes Mistress
