UPDATE!
Due to a recent change in my life - casually relocating to the other side of the world on a one-way ticket - and an incredible job offer to do a few more shows with a dance company called Celtic Legends, this blog will now be more about my travels and my experiences of moving out of home and to another country with nothing but the things I could pack into my 30kg weight allowance. I am on my way out of Canberra now and may or may not have stood in my home for the last time as my mum plans to move house sooner rather than later. Lots of tears saying goodbye to the fam and my dog (cat didn't bother to wake up from his nap) but now am full of nervous, excited energy for the journey ahead! Will check in later :) xo.

My 6 week adventure!
Hi everyone,
I have been offline for a little while now because life was getting pretty busy as I was trying to prepare for my trip! But I have been away for nearly a full 2 weeks now and I am loving it :) I started off with my flight to Sydney being 4 hours late and my flight to LA being cancelled but since then it has been pretty much smooth sailing! LA was so much fun and I am missing my beautiful dancing family so much already, especially as I barely even said goodbye to you all before having to run out the door and into the cab for the airport (still in full costume mind you!). It was worth it though to make it to Michigan so I could attend the MSUASP (Michigan State University American Semester Program) to learn about digital marketing and social media. Apart from the classes being really interesting, the people I have met are some of the nicest, funniest and most interesting people I have ever met and I already know I will miss them all so much when we go home. Being over here with such a great group of people I feel like I am able to be myself and hopefully by the time we come home I will have left a mark on some of those people too. We have officially finished an entire week of exchange as of last night and I don't want it to end! We have been to the baseball, to house parties, to the bars and clubs in East Lansing, visited beautiful Mackinac Island and biked around taking photos, sunbaked on the lawns, had an afternoon by the pool, shopped and eaten the most incredible amount of food we are probably going to have gained the standard 'Freshman 15' before we go home.
Hopefully I will update again soon, we have two more weeks here and then I am off to Dublin for Take The Floor 2013!

It's been a while..
Hello to anyone currently following this blog :) sorry I have been offline for a while had lots of end of semester assessment to do followed by a lot of catching up on twitter, emailing American TV networks asking for internship opportunities, starting in a new job at work, having a minor life crisis and catching up on a months worth of unwatched Game of Thrones episodes. Its been hectic.
BUT
I am back! And hopefully I will have lots of time to get back on track with my blog. I have lots to discuss with you all including the end of TVD Season 4 (watch with tissues guys), the continuing countdown to my trip to USA, future plans including the progress of my internship job hunt and how I am going to get myself on a semester exchange potentially to University of Central Florida and many more exciting topics.
I have no idea if anyone reads this but for anyone who stumbles across this please read, smile, laugh, like and reblog :) As was decided by my friend and I about an hour or so ago we are going to take a new approach of just do what your gut tells you and see everything in a positive way. If it's not positive then we are just looking at the wrong aspect and stop over thinking everything and just enjoy what is happening now.

THE BALLERINA PROJECT
One of my favorite NYC sights is seeing dancers warming up in the subway…have you experienced it? You’re waiting for the train and all of a sudden the person standing next to you starts to do a plie. There’s just something about that kind of beauty against a urban backdrop.
Which is why I’m equally fascinated with a photo series that’s been around for sometime now, The Ballerina Project. It’s an ongoing project by Dane Shitagi that depicts ballerinas amongst organic backdrops.
The project has been going steady for 10+ years in New York and now it’s trying to move on to a new phase – mini documentaries to compliment the photographs. Dane hope these will give new audiences a more complete and accurate representative of ballet to help sustain it’s future.
*Unfortunately, Dane’s Kickstarter for this new phase ended 6 days ago without being funded. Here’s hoping he can get it rev’d up again.
