hii sophie. sorry if youve already answered this; youve mentioned a couple times about doing a series with penny going through a bunch of cool or important games in the fps lineage. since then ive kind of been obsessed with trying to make a list of and eventually get round to playing a bunch of these cornerstones of fps history, especially since half life has become one of my favourite games ever since seeing your 1hp series and you playing through it with penny. so just out of curiosity, do you have any ideas of what some of those games youre gonna go through might be? ive heard you talk about F.E.A.R a couple times but thats all i can remember right now. just wanna know if theres any banger fps that i could be missing out on

Off the top of my head, I'm going to make her play: Doom Blood Quake System Shock 2 Deus Ex Jedi Knight II 007 Nightfire F.E.A.R. Timesplitters Future Perfect Prey (2006) Gears Of War STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl Crysis Bioshock CoD 4

There's probably some more i would want to fit in there (AvP2 and Max Payne stand out to me for example) but I think these are the big hitters I think deserve the spotlight and need to be experienced. I could also extend the Boom Shoot era WAY longer (the other dooms, duke nukem, hexen, hell even rise of the triad if i wanted to get real weird), but I think Doom, Blood, then Quake really gives you the best hits while showcasing the progression of that time well. Half-Life and Halo would've fit into this list if she hadn't already played them obvs. I'm not putting Goldeneye in this list because I am a Goldeneye non-believer. If we get through the entire list in any reasonable timeframe and she still craves More, I'm always more than happy to circle back and hit some iconic ones we missed. Nightfire probably doesn't deserve to be on this list compared to everything else but it's peak so idgaf.

I've been rewatching Penny's Half-Life VODs and thinking about the whole headcrab zombie reversed audio thing, I still don't understand how "god help, help me" reverses to "yabba my icing" but it sure fuckin do, don't it?

the "y" in yabba comes from the "ee" sound at the end of "me," and the "bb" in yabba is actually the P sound in help. the "ing" in icing just comes from the VA dramatizing the beginning of the word "god" and giving a nasally "ng" sound to it. the "ice" part of "icing" is just ears filling in the blank to make the word work. very fun stuff

Is it ok if I ask about your thoughts on BO2 zombies overall? Your recent(ish) stream with Penny on BO1 zombies reawakened an age old hyperfixation, and it's got me curious on your thoughts (good and/or bad!) on BO2!

Struggled to find its footing in the beginning but i commend it for its endless experimentation with the mode. Not huge on the aesthetics of the Victis maps but I generally like the maps themselves. Die Rise is probably my favorite Victis map, it's really cool to have a map that's far more vertical than horizontal. Mob of the Dead and Origins moved the mode forward into my personal favorite era of map design, although I think the Primis cast is boring and lame. Origins is probably my favorite zombies map of all time other than that.
