ughhh this year's kia came out terrible. even last year's right arm fiasco was better than this. where did I go wrong.

maybe I just rushed myself too much. likely I need to up my easypose game. this drawing just feels wrong. lifeless. I placed the belt too low and the shirt felt empty so I had to give her a fucking NAVEL CUTOUT as compensation. sigh. at least the skirt looks good and I can say I learned a new lineart coloring shortcut heh.

Last year during May, we had our first SigAmi Week(Go check out last year's tag, lots of wonderful artwork of all types was made by lots of artists!), And it was a wonderful experience, and of course we want to repeat the event!

This year it'll start on May 26th, and end on June 1st.

Okay reblog if you’re an artist who STRONGLY PREFERS reblogs with commentary

People are apparently under the impression that reblogging someone’s art and adding a comment is frowned upon and that can’t possibly be true, every artist I know of sees a reblog-comment as like the ultimate definitive reward for their hard work.

Obviously don’t feel bad for NOT adding a comment if you’re shy or just don’t know what to say, but if there’s something you would like to say about a drawing you’ve liked enough to reblog, I’m pretty sure most artists crave hearing it.

Definitely re-emphasizing that ALL reblogs, likes, etc are awesome! So don’t feel bad/feel obligated to add something if you don’t want to, but don’t hold back if you DO wanna add something because you’re worried it’s rude.

I once read someone’s post saying “NEVER ADD A COMMENT WHEN YOU REBLOG SOMEONE’S WORK CAUSE YOU’RE TAKING ATTENTION AWAY FROM THEM” and it’s what prevented me from doing so for a time, until I became a creator of stuff myself and I can say that’s absolutely untrue. For one, I’m not a five year old who needs all the attention to be on me all the time. For another, the fact that someone would take the time to sit down and put real effort into writing something, whether as a comment or in the tags, means so much to me and is the most inspiring. Finally, you have a voice too, and you have as much right to speak it as I do :)

OMG is this why people stopped leaving comments in the past few years? I’m so hungry for comments! You don’t have to put them in the tags, either. Feedback gives me so much more energy and motivation to make art than a silent “like” and I crave it!

I love comments! They let me know that people are actually actively engaging with what I create! Hitting “like” is so quick and quiet, but a lot of art, to me, is about creating things that express a perspective or feeling that you hope others will also connect with. Telling me how it makes you feel or what you love about it is the response to the call! It’s OK to put those thoughts in tags if you’re shy or just don’t want to put them right on the post, but I do read them and appreciate them. Every single one! (Which is why, caveat, it is a good idea to only leave reasonably polite ones and not use mean humor that won’t necessarily hit with strangers.)

Please comment!! It’s been so quiet not just on tumblr but most places I post online. It is really discouraging to create, to call, and hear nothing so often. Tell the people and creators you love that you love them!! You never know when your comment will be the encouragement they need to keep going.
