Announcing our Love Live Dance Workshop that has just been approved for Otakon 2016!
Four of us from SorbetParade Cosplay will be there to teach the choruses to some Love Live dances. Whether you’re a pro-idol or a beginner, anyone is welcome. We’ll be using easy to follow along videos and give you one on one feedback.
*Time TBA, but shooting for Friday. Please share the news and RSVP! If you have any particular dance you’re most excited about - we will give no promises but we’d love to hear about it.
**In addition, we have -3- Otakon 3day passes up for sale, if anyone is interested please contact us.
We didn’t have a full group photoshoot this year at AnimeNEXT but we did attend the Love Live shoot!
This year’s group cosplay was Love Live with the cute apron cards in School Idol Festival.
At least one of us is in pictures 6-10 (and all five of us in pictures 6,7, and 8)! Let us know if you see us on the internet!

AnimeNEXT Day 2, Part 4, aka All aboard the magical despair train

A video of the Animenext Masquerade '14, in which Sorbet Parade performed our Madoka skit! (starts at 15:48, a little early due to how long we took to set up)
Uncle Yo mistook our title, "A Fool's Promise", with "A Fool's Paradise" - which is the title of the third Madoka movie, so either way works? Even though our timeline mishmosh is different.
SorbetParade Cosplay's one goal with our skit was to make Madoka fans cry. Oh, and we hope you appreciate our color-guard choreography, props, and audio mix/voice-acting too! ;)
Without further ado, enjoy! Thank you to all that came, the wonderful tech crew and staffers, and the judges that awarded us Best in Show!
PS. Those who recognize the song used in the fight with Walpurgis Night earn a cookie. It is not a Madoka OST.

Sorbet Parade returned to Animenext 2014’s Masquerade with our Madoka skit “A Fool’s Promise”, and won Best in Show!!
Not only did each of our 6 members (Kyoko not pictured) win a custom Animenext medal, we also got each got high-end Brother sewing machines and a bag of sewing tools! Thank you so much animenext Masquerade staff organizers, crew, and fellow cosplayers - everyone was so friendly and awesome. The food and water provided helped a lot, and we did not expect to win the prizes of our dreams on top of the experience. Looks like we’re Journeyman level now.
In the post-con break, we will try to slowly update our blog again with new pictures. If you have any of us, we’d love to reblog/receive submissions (also tag/credit us with this blog “Sorbetparade”). <3
MEIKO CONCHITA THE EPICUREAN DAUGTHER
It’s been a week since AN, but here’s the mini “photoshoot” I did with novelteanottes! She took them with her iPhone on the red bridge at AN. I’m so glad with how these pictures came out despite the rain! I didn’t wear Meiko too long after this since ballgowns tend to be tiresome. ; u;

Wahoo! Cosplay update again. MEIKO: CONCHITA THE EPICUREAN is my cosplay btw. I forget to mention that.
These pictures make the skirt look flat, but it’s actually fairly full when I’m in it. I may add another layer of tulle to the underskirt, though, just to add more fullness. The current chord is temporary. I have to get one for it still. Other than that, the skirt’s done. Working on the sleeves!
Guess who? It's Stevie! Still working hard on Conchita. While this dress is for AN, it's also a solo cosplay for me. I plan on having it finished by April 19. Yup, 16 days. Why? 'Cause I gotta get my booty into action yo!
Wahoo! Finished skirt. Horsehair, hemmed, and with my underskirt. Without the horsehair the bottom didn’t flow in the pretty fashion it now does. It’s really nice when I move around, but you can enjoy this still picture for now. I’m making the sash right now and drowning in a sea of red. Hope y’all are waiting with baited breath for my next one! u wu

Why does this look pink. e ue;; Working on my skirt! May or may not add another layer of tulle since I still have another layer to make. It’s only pinned to the mannequin because I just started working the actual skirt. I shortened it a bit and it needs to be ironed still. I’ll be completing the skirt in a day session (hopefully) so that I can start on the bodice.
If y’all are wondering I’m making MEIKO as Conchita from Vocaloids. e ue; Sorry I don’t tag it as that because it’s kind of silly imo. Since I’m short, a traditional poofy ballgown will overwhelm me, so in order to appear taller I’m making the skirt thinner. Horizontal expansion = shortness; vertical expansion = tallness! Always use illusions, bros. u wu
Stevie continues! I'm reblogging from my personal blog since posting here is mostly for the group, but this is another AnimeNEXT costume! I'm also happy to announce that Vina and I will be in the artist alley! I'm haunting all of you in my sea of red. THIS GOT A LOT WORST I TELL YOU HWAT ((SAY THAT IN HANK HILL'S VOICE IN YOUR HEAD IF NOT DONE SO ALREADY.) )

Made my underskirt today for my ball gown! I made a white broadcloth, tri-tiered gathered skirt with an elastic waistband, which I hemmed so that it just brushes the ground, so that when I wear heels it’s not too short or long. I hand-sewed on a gathered length of tulle to add additional poof to the skirt so that it can give me a bell shape.
I’ll tell you this: it’s gathering hell! But the skirt is pretty lightweight and hopefully it’s not too bulky once I add the actual skirt! I’ll be working on that next.
Blabbity-blabbity! It's a-me, Stevie! I finished this as a day project last Friday. With the added tulle it's extremely poofy. 8D
