Hmmm. My sister and I want a common tattoo. And it would be about a thing of animation or movie we both love and that represent us.

At first, HP was involved. In France, few people knew about JKR's views, and I had to explain that I wasn't comfortable with that.

When she learned that, she quickly diverted to something we both agree on: studios Ghibli. My part? Toothless. Of course.

So right now we are thinking about a design. I like the idea of having Toothless hanging out with characters/elements from miyasaki movies. Calcifer is a given and a must be, which I agree on. Rn we have no real plan but we are getting closer to finding our thing.

And me personally, I may have another toothless project for me.

Maybe not very original, but I would like to have two toothless : the movie one and book one.

Looks weird, but if I have to get fictional characters inked, it's because their story must really, really have a huge impact on me.

Httyd has made a huge, and I mean huge impact on me despite being a young adult when the first movie was released. This universe (and Ghibli) may be the last fictional elements I will accept to have inked on me.

So it's important to me. I have no idea for this second idea yet, focusing on the sister project.

Also my sis has a very nice design in mind for another tattoo. A fish to represent her son. He is pisces, and she showed me several potential designs that are really beautiful.

I suggested the LA remake version of Flounder. She didn't agree. I wonder why.

what i’ve learned in my life is if someone is treating you poorly and youre asking yourself “what magic words can I use to make this person treat me with basic respect,” those words don’t exist and they never will.

today I learned that in 2008, the city council of florence overturned dante’s sentence of execution if he returned from exile. yes, dante’s inferno dante, who died in 1321.

but the funniest part of this is not that they were debating the exile of a man who has been dead for over 500 years.

the funniest part is that the vote was 19-5. five people voted to uphold dante’s exile.

The objectively funniest part of this is actually that the city that holds his remains, Ravenna, refused to give his remains back. This was a ploy from florence to have his remains moved back for the tourist money and its been ongoing for a long time. Florence had a fake tomb built in the city to trick people into visiting, and have tried to force the return of the remains.

His actual caretakers have been very steadfast in keeping them hidden, moved, or generally out of reach to respect his choice in life to never, ever, ever return to florence, even when he was first offered the chance to return. This is at this point an almost millenium long feud that florence is really, really mad about losing
