posts will be sporadic due to life issues. sorry for the inconvenience
The skies were bright yet grey, daylight filtered in a dull grey glow through the rain threatening weather. It was warm, a perfect day for someone who didn’t like the light very much. For BEN though, it was an awful day. Water threatening to fall from the sky in death showers.Yet he had to buy some food. Currently alive due to some twisted cruel magic, BEN was grumpy as he walked through the sparse crowds and found cheap foods he wouldn’t have to cook. He wasn’t used to being alive, buying only pop corn and fudge so far. He didn’t understand the need for healthy food.
Soon he was leaving, walking down a forest path to his secluded home, Whistling the song of unhealing as he went along. His arms were laden with bags full of candy, his bright blue eyes looking around in curiosity of the world around him. He didn’t see anyone else…
No, no, no this shouldn’t be happening. Link -- or at least, the child Vaati assumed was Link -- wasn’t supposed to be here, this was supposed to be a secretive place. How did he even find the entrance to this place anyway?
The mage decided to emerge from his vantage point. "What in the hell are you doing."
Glancing back she now saw a corpse, and shrugged it off as she adjusted her scarf a bit. She was used to it by now, people died constantly in Lorule. If it weren’t those foolish enough to venture out alone it was the corpses of monsters slain by people trying to get by. She blinked slowly when he stood in front of her, and she pouted a bit at the blunt rejection.
"So those people lied to me, eh?It’s not like I charged them too much for my good- oi. I can be as strong as I want, bub." She crosses her arms, miffed that he thought so little of her already.
He simply rolled his eyes at her. Ugh, why was this kid persistant? He hated that -- though that was hypocritical.
Of course, when he heard her speak he was suddenly alert and shocked. “Who had told you about this place?”
Sorry I’ve been on an impromptu hiatus. Musical rehearsal is draining me. I’ll be back next week.
im probably going to only have a muse for anger so there wont be much activity until that ends oops

Hold up! What was this guy saying? Meant to rule Hyrule?! What kind of crazy-talk was that, anyway? …Was Vaati really as bad as Ravio’s heebie-jeebie senses made him think? Taking a step back, then another, the idea of running away seemed pretty good. Then again… that wasn’t very king-like behavior, was it? No, no — he had to stand up and defend the sister country.
…Too bad he was shaking in his boots.
❝ He-hey there, now! First off, the Link I know doesn’t know a thing about you! Se-second of all… second of all, I’m pretty sure tyranny like that is kinda looked down upon in Hyrule! ❞ Gods, he was signing himself up for death. ❝ I don’t care if you call me scum, but saying all that… ❞
The young king slowly burrowed into his scarf, letting his words trail off. He tried.
Try as he might, there was nothing Ravio could do to calm the wind mage. In a cruel twist, Vaati had become more angered. Whoops.
"And do you know why he does not? Because much of my tale was erased from historical documents! And Hyrule is home to a system in need of serious reforms. What government hides secrets of an entire species' existance? Or decides it is right to seal one inside a vessel of dark, cold nothingness?" Vaati's rage caused such a blush to form on his face that he was almost entirely red. This was obviously something that hit him close to home.
"You would never know what any of that feeling entails. You have never been part of such a story that was erased. You must have the best fuckening time of your mortal life, as a royal."

To say that Ravio was confused was a complete and utter understatement. Not only had this Vaati insulted his closest companion ( yes, Sheerow ), but Link as well? What was his problem? And after Ravio had considered this Vaati not being so much of a bad apple that he thought he was… phooey.
❝ Oy! Sheerow definitely ain’t some kinda pest! He’s my best buddy and former sales partner! He’s a smart little guy and — hold up a sec. Wretched? The only thing wretched about Link is how he stinks up the place after coming in from training recruits, ❞ the young king spat, pursing his lips. ❝ ‘Sides that, he’s my husband and happens to be Prince Consort of Lorule. I dunno where you get off, but I don’t like hearing any of that at all. ❞
"What, had you not heard of the events from my alternate? The events where not once, not twice, but three individual times, the 'hero' Link claimed victory over me? I was meant to rule Hyrule, not some disgusting old man as their current king is, and I was to do it with power! And he stole that from me!" Vaati had progressively gotten angrier as he progressed, his last words being shouted before his teeth were fully bared. How dare someone question his anger like that!
"As for the bird, there are tales not meant to be shared, not to scum such as yourself."
off my mini hiatus
Festival of Seasons
::{₪} The town was bustling with many visitors from all around. Each year the place held a festival in regards to celebrating the changing of the seasons. It grew warmer and warmer each day, but today being the coldest of them all. The Twilight King had decided to partake in this little event and see what he could learn about his future kingdom. However, he did notice someone who stood out and grew interested. He sensed something in the other and approached him with caution. {₪}::
The wind mage only came to this festival because he heard there was something reported to improve chances of success in life being offered as a prize for some contest or lottery or something. Fuck if he knew. He just had to look arou--
Oh no. He seemed to lock eyes with someone -- never a good thing when one's eyes are a bright red -- and this person looked almost as out of place as himself. Tall, masked, lightly armored, and odd clothing were what Vaati caught first, earlier than he realized this person was coming closer, oh . Maybe if he looked away he could avoid confrontation, he figured. Even better, he'd turn and pull his cloak's hood over his head.
sorry i haven't been replying; i'm currently feeling too sick to focus on much. until i feel ready, i'll be on a mini hiatus.

Less shy? Well, that was fairly true — Ravio was the biggest social butterfly you’d even see! Of course, that was mostly just for getting what he needed or to advertise his wares back in the day. Now, he used his social skills to dictate, order, and guide as Lorule’s sovereign. …And tell horrid jokes on the side, as always.
❝ Mm! Multiple selves are pretty common ‘round these parts — damned bird? …Ah, you mean my little buddy Sheerow! ❞ So this Vaati had a bad run-in with another version of Ravio’s dearest companion? ❝ I’m guessing he tried to say hi and uh… well, I dunno what that Sheerow did, but when mine likes someone, he takes a little birdy poo on their head. It’s… kinda a way for him to express that someone’s his “property”, y’know? Link had that happen to him once, and boy was he sore about it! …Anyway, he’ll keep his distance. Right now he’s back in the castle with Link. ❞
"That is disgusting. The other -- Sheerow, was it? To the hell if I care -- had merely flown into my face. Directly after expressing my hatred of birds due to traumatic experiences." Vaati cringed at his self-inflicted memories, visibly shuddering as his entire body tensed.
"Regardless. That bird is a venomous shiteater, metaphorically speaking -- and had you said Link? An incarnation of that wretched child lives in this land?" Well, this was going badly. To find information of any version of the hero existing was seen as a curse by him, no matter where said hero was.
•-)•–––– ♛ ♕
Yes, this Vaati certainly wasn’t like the one he knew. This one was humbler, kinder, and a heck of a lot more formal. Not that Ravio really cared for formalities, but he put up with them anyhow.
Speaking of formalities, did this Vaati just bow to him? Taken aback by this gesture, Ravio quickly fell into a bow himself, his much less full given the status difference. He had to remember that.
❝ To be honest, I could say the same for you, ❞ Ravio replied, finding it slightly comforting that this Vaati hadn’t gone for the cryptic side of conversation. ❝ I knew a Vaati too, but I don’t know where they’ve gone off to. But you? Haven’t seen ya. Might’ve met another one of me, that’s pretty common. Been around the whole “people I know from another dimension” thing before, so this ain’t exactly weirding me out. …Point is, you and I have met, but we haven’t met. ❞
In honesty, this Ravio was similar to the one Vaati had met prior -- not only in looks, but in general attitude. Of course, this one was a lot less shy, something the mage found relief in. He didn't much enjoy shyness in someone otherwise inviting.
"That, in actuality, makes far more sense than it seems. I have met multiple versions of myself; it would be sensible that all people have a minimum of three selves. In any case, it is a pleasure to meet you -- at the very least, you are hopefully not accompanied by that damned bird." He knew he likely walked right into another faceful of bird, but it was satisfying to say that.
