im tempted to....move butch to my multi, but i also v much like having him on his own blog?? but i also haven’t been multitasking between blogs v productively
my multi is officially up even tho there are still more people i want 2 add to it and i have no official promo, but i’ll be splittin my time between @waxburns and butch so catch me over there 2
‘ you’re still nothing but TWO - BIT OUTLAWS on the dodge. IT’S OVER , don’t you get that ? your time is OVER and you’re gonna die BLOODY , and all you can do is choose where. ’ @sorelosin / * indie butch cassidy , written by freddie.
Harper (1966)
WHITESTETSON.
He takes off his hat and sets it down between them to push his sweaty hair back off his forehead. Boy, he could go for something with a little ice in it.
‘Ain’t the first to say so. You know one side of the law, you know the other, well enough. Just a different set of morals attached, or a set over none. People end up in your situation, it gets called a ‘disregard for the law’. To me, it seems you well regard it. Then again, you sure ain’t stupid if you did what you did. On the subject, it’s unfortunate that it’s too late for you to consider an alternative, neither.’
Raylan holds his gaze on Butch, blithely, ‘still, I let things slip away from me, you’ll be the first I look up, that is if you’re not in lock up.’
‘ i won’t be ’ butch says with an assuredness of the fact that could convert any skeptic. his grin, now cut broad across his face, has always helped leverage him onto the winning side of any battle. ‘ you know it better than most, i’m not an easy man to catch. it’s a real point of pride seein’ as an outlaw's only worth something on the front side of the bars. ’ he leans his chair forward until his elbows can be pressed to the table, contemplating the heat and contemplating what to do about it. ‘ there’s gotta be a bar around here somewhere, huh ? ’
SUNSWAN.
starter call / @sorelosin
“a real gunslinger’d show me a pistol trick.” keeping in lines with the rules of reverse psychology, sadie keeps a straight face. the goal is to mask the eagerness behind the challenging tone. its always been a habit of hers – wandering into unknown territory whose inhabitants are bigger and tougher. and what has she done to prove her worthiness, beside slip into unoccupied chairs to sneak sips from the whisky of strangers ?
by our estimates, FAR too little.
‘ i can shoot right fine, but i wouldn’t call myself a gunslinger, miss. i’m better known for my brains. ’ he can tell a lie when he feels so compelled, but his impressiveness would falter anticlimactically if he insisted to himself ( and the girl ) that he could do anything awe-inspiring with a firearm in hand. that’s always been sundance’s business. ‘ m’ sorry to disappoint, but my area of expertise ain’t easy to show off, unless you happen on a newspaper with my name in it. ’
consider this a small starter call 2 kick this blog off !

WHITESTETSON.
‘It does take effort, Butch, to get up every mornin’ and consider that someone, somewhere, is about to do something real stupid that I’ll have to sweep up. Some would ask if it were worth it.’
He eyes him, comfortable across from him and not only because Butch is making himself seem harmless.
‘You said you only made real money the once?’
‘ no, no, i’ve been makin’ real money all my life. it’s only the once that i walked away with profit from a casino. that was all chance. the rest of my fortune on the other hand ? ’ ( fortune being used very loosely here ) ‘ that’s all hard earned. blood, sweat, n’ tears. ’
butch kicks his chair back, rocking leisurely on the weight of the legs, all while a misunderstood admiration keeps tossing around in his skull. it’s hard to settle on the feeling’s validity when raylan is the spitting image of a natural enemy.
‘ if you ever happen on a crisis of faith, you oughta let me know. with your work ethic, you’d make a fine asset to the underside of the law. ’
WRECKORD.
In the hot sun, Godfrey’s hat and coats are impracticable as well as improper for a sojourn in the desert - he suffers greatly for the climate as a result and hopes his sweat is new and not pungent. Under this weight of starched wool and linen and long johns, his hands remain high above his head - but his whole body momentarily micro-twitches. “You’re literate?” The frankness is reactionary and regrettable. He’d never considered the possibility of the Butch Cassidy being able to read and write.
‘ ‘course i am. ’ it’s not the wildest accusation to make of such a cowhand looking man like himself, but he’s sore, it sounds out loud and clear in the tone of his voice. his reputation’s been routinely bolstered by a clear standard of brains over brawn. ‘ you can put your hands down now, pal, i’m not gonna shoot ya. ’ he hasn’t shot anyone period, but the thought of the threat alone seems cruel to inflict on godfrey. a fish out of water is already a creature struggling to get by.
SUNDANCIN.
strand of golden hair shines under the dim light when he sits back in his chair with the usual ROLL OF HIS EYES that follows his companion’s inexhaustible reasoning –––he knew asking that question was a bad idea, even with all the SARCASM he could summon. left hand expertly seizes the handle of his colt, pulling it out from its holster & letting loose a THUNDEROUS BANG, followed by the crashing sound of shattering glass & trickling beer. revolver tucked back in its resting place, he’ll rock backward in his chair with a satisfied half - grin, eyes shifting from the amber liquid splattered on the table to butch’s face. sometimes, that bang was all that could shut the great butch cassidy up. ❝ good t’see i can still shoot BETTER THAN YA, either way, butch. ain’t much t’brag ‘bout, though, cause you’re such a lousy shot. ❞ / @sorelosin ; continued.
disdain gets conflated with bemusement in the twist of his lip, expression crunching up reflexively. ‘ i probably deserved that ’ butch admits in brackish defeat, shaking out the liquor that’s left on his hand. the real shame’s in the waste. he’ll happily find the time to grieve the beer, but there’s something to be said in the way that he trusts sundance’s hand enough to forgive a shot so close to his face. nobody else could try and pull such a stunt without a wealth of exasperated wrath in return. ‘ don’t think i’ll be forgivin’ n’ forgettin’ that easy though, kid. your payback’ll come in due time. just ya wait. ’
current mood: gettin emotional abt paul newman w/ @truthlost
‘ y’know, you’ve got the looks of a man with a right decent sense of integrity. ’ admirable and exploitable in butch’s eyes, who can only win a hand of poker if there’s a degree of cheating involved. ‘ how about a game of cards ? ’ / @snipedt.
‘ never heard of anyone who was keen on deathclaws before. can’t say i’ve ever met one i’ve disliked, but that’s because i actively try n’ avoid ‘em. not exactly the safest pets in the wastes, and that’s really saying something. ’ / @deathclawjunkie.
