Here at Seen On Screen, most of our teachers are actually professional dancers! We asked #SOSKelechi a few questions about her stint on the most recent X-Factor Tour!
Hey Kelechi! Can you describe us a general day when you’re on tour?
We wake up, have breakfast at the hotel, and then maybe use the spa if the hotel has one! Then probably go to the shopping centre of whatever town I'm in to do a bit of shopping. We also have a physio at times at the hotel, to keep our bodies in shape. Then, onto the tour bus to drive to the venue. We’ll have some dinner, and get ready to do the show. After the show, we either go out to a club, or back to the hotel for drinks at the bar....can end up being a very late night! That's the basic, but we do travel a lot from city to city. We also have days off where we can do fun things, like sightseeing!
Catering is provided and is quite diverse which is good although you can tend to eat junk at times, especially late night after the shows.
What are your favourite things about being on tour?
1. Going out on stage every night to do what I love in front of thousands. Such a great feeling!
2. The people I'm with. It's important, because you really do become a tour family, and you have a great time together. Sometimes it's the people around you that make the tour.
3. All the jokes and banter that happens and only you and your tour peeps will get
4. Nights out! Not to mention the VIP treatment ;-)
Who are the most memorable people you have worked with?
Cheryl Cole, Iggy Azalea, Will i Am, and of course all the Xfactor Tours!
What’s your most memorable Tour moment?
Opening night of my first ever tour. It was Xfactor tour 2011 in Birmingham. Buzzing!
And your most cringe moment?!
Any time I have ever blanked, or slipped on stage... Not the one! Lol
What do you miss most being away from home?
All home comforts, family and friends. And home cooking!
How do you feel before you go on stage, do you still get nervous?
I get nervous on opening nights for tours, but once I get into the swing of things I'm ok after that. When I have people come to watch, it's more of an excited feeling.
What was your favourite number in the show?
Ben Haenow - Highway to Hell/Come Together
Fleur East- Uptown Funk/Bang Bang
Finally, do you ever get star struck?
I haven't really been star struck on any of the tours I've done, but on other jobs I have. I was most star struck when I met and worked with Tina Turner. She's such a legend!
Amazing! Thanks so much Kelechi, see you soon!
