it had been a pleasure to watch Freya’s garden die, truth be told. Loki wasn’t an enemy of the goddess, per se, but there were still points about which she was undeniably bitter. If she’d not been otherwise occupied — and the sorceress herself had not been likewise indisposed — she may have even deigned to reveal herself to the perpatrator in person. To grant her a boon of sorts. Alas, the moment had come and gone, and while the villagers, the peasants, revolted at the death of the “divine garden,” the anger was soon put to use, and restoration efforts had begun. How droll. Was it not meddling with something dead that had caused the problem in the first place? Then they had called it a sin, a blasphemey, and yet now…did they not seek to do the same? To revive something that was rightfully dead? Oh how she would have loved to point out the fatal flaw in their reasoning… But, no. Skelligers were invariably more trouble than they were worth, and she did not want their worship. To reveal oneself as a god was a frightful thing, these days. There were some yet who would sacrifice in her name, in her honor, but they were…few. She was rarely regarded kindly by the common rabble, and those who might benefit from her favor were the sort who tended to be rather… disinclined towards any sort of faith in any sort of gods. That didn’t necessarily preclude her making herself known to them, of course – she had visited Philippa Eilhart time and again, perhaps a century or so back, and through the woman, had crossed paths with a select few other sorceresses. Philippa’s views on magic and its nature, her Lodge of Sorceresses, all things that amused and pleased Loki, both. And when a former member of said Lodge appeared in the ruins of Freya’s garden, aiming to assist in restoration efforts…well, the opportunity was almost too perfect to pass up. A stern look from her – while the sorceress’s gaze was elsewhere, of course – was more than sufficient to ensure the villagers gave them a wide berth. She’d not take kindly to any interruptions. “ Don’t you know better than to attempt to revive something once it’s dead? ”

It has not been easy for Triss - her lover left with another woman ; and, granted they were practically made for each other did not change her opinion on the matter. Now they were gone - and Triss was still here, still a sorceress and still apart of the Lodge. Her red locks matched the fire she felt inside of her lately, especially every time she thought about them and what they were doing, having sex no doubt.

Yet she found solace in working, learning new spells, helping villagers with their problems which were a plenty now that the White Wolf was gone. Triss had no problem doing a witcher’s work - it made her feel somewhat closer to her lover and the relationship she still held desperately on to. A relationship she might not ever let go of.

Her heart nearly stopped when she heard what Yennefer had done to Freya’s Garden - necromancy, of course that evil witch would do something so awful in such a magical place. So, once finished with a Leshen problem in Rannvaig she made her way to the once holy place in an attempt to help the villagers - maybe her magic to be of some use, perhaps an illusion spell could help these villagers cope with the loss of their once beautiful place of worship.

Of course Triss had trouble being welcomed in the nearby towns as their opinion on witches was less than inviting but they warmed up to her sweet face and open heart quickly, as everyone typically does. Eventually they accepted her help and took her to Freya’s Garden - a now dark and angry place. She promised to do everything in her power to restore the place and told them to leave. Once they were out of eyesight she found a stone bench to sit on and looked around the place thinking of what action she should take next.

It was then that she heard the voice. Triss found the eyes of the voice’s owner - a strange looking woman who spoke a sentence truly ironic.

“Funny you say that. I do know better and I’m also aware that there is nothing I can do to bring life back to the garden but perhaps I can cast an illusion that will help those who wish to see this place brought back to its former beauty.” Triss explained her plan - though it was rather idiotic of her, this stranger could easily be a ploy to see if the sorceress could really do as she says. Yet, she did not care. Being in this place where her lover and Yennefer were so close and felt something so magical made her sick.

“I will pull whatever face I want Yennefer! How dare you throw food at me!” Her face quickly formed a smile and she returned Yennefer’s action with a carrot to her beautiful black locks, “If you want a war you shall have one!” Triss giggled and threw another object of food at her friend.

A warm fire illuminated them both in a glow of bright orange, yet the stone was still cold and so was Triss’ heart. As much as she wanted to believe it she could not - and it was her own fault. She has been so wrapped around another man that it simply never crossed her mind that someone far more suited for her could actually want to be with her.

“Eskel, I don’t believe you - I can’t.” Triss finally says.

Her hands balled into a fist - then relaxed. She repeated this movement over and over - her nerves coming in waves of terror and regret.

“Yennefer put you up to this didn’t she? That filthy woman toying with me.” She swore more fowl words of her colleague under her breath. “Leave, now - and tell that bitch her plan didn’t work and to leave you out of our issues!” Triss knew somewhere that Yennefer could never use Eskel against her yet her irrational thinking got the best of her.

Rage filled her eyes in the form of tears and she tried desperately not to have them roll down her face.
