Don C. I have to speak on the artic orange Jordan retro 2. This pair sadly is worth way too much money that I’d like to spend but nonetheless an amazing pair in my opinion. This is really my favorite pair of Don C’s. As far as the color way I was a bit confused when I first heard it but when I saw it in person it was the complete opposite of what I thought but it was still a beautiful shoe. This is another pair that pictures won’t do any justice. They released in June 2017 and resale is over $1500 which is mind blowing but I totally get it. A pair I’d probably never get unless I win the lottery. maybe.

I didn’t grow up the most fly kid or the freshest guy in the world. Life was rough with both of my parents being foreigners. (England & Jamaica). My mom was focused on putting food on the table, so “named brand” shoes and clothing was the least of her worries. Kids made fun of the shoes I wore my entire 6th grade year and that summer I vowed to never get bullied again in my life, and I MEANT that. My mom used to give me $200 for my birthday every year from 7th grade till 12th grade, and I would save a little over $150 from my Christmas money to put towards my sneakers every year, so I’d have $300-350 to work with every summer. I NEVER once owned a pair of Jordan’s until after I graduated high school. At the time J’s cost about $150 and I didn’t want to waste my $300 on two pairs of shoes for the entire year. So I would dabble around different malls and buy the basics; $60-$70 all white Air Force ones, $50 black and white adidas, $40-50 (chucks/vans/DC’s/PF Flyers) *which ever shoe was hot in Miami that year, they all had their runs* and my last pair of shoes would always be something rare of eBay that was Nike related (Air Max’s/Blazers or Dunks) that was my formula and it worked every single time. Long story short, it’s crazy but I got into the sneaker game to avoid getting picked on.

I gave that background story to say this.. my favorite pair of sneakers are not the rarest or the the most fire, but it’s the first pair of Jordan’s I bought for myself and my little brother. “Fontay Montana 9’s” mean the most to me because It’s the first time I was able to provide for someone other than myself. I never want my little brother to go through the hell that I endured. Even though as of today, his pair is totally torn and worn out and probably thrown away, my pair is still here today, and they will forever remain in my possession for what it symbolizes.

Next sneaker I want to discuss would have to be the wheat air foot scape woven chukka. A truly slept on pair I don’t care what anybody says. They released a year ago in October. The model is so clean yet simple. This particular sneaker looks like a baseball mit but nonetheless a must cop. I missed the pair because I didn’t do as much research as I should’ve to see what sites would have them. I don’t recall if snkrs had them available but we all know snkrs is a guaranteed L. I plan on buying a pair in the near future.

Since a jit I’ve always been into kicks, but I never been the type to ride the hype beast wave. Growing up we couldn’t afford the Jay’s and Nike’s but old girl copped us whatever she could to not get us fired up on in school.. and it did for a min. From 7th grade to 10th I stayed with a fresh pair of K Swiss Classics almost every quarter lol. Then my bro came down from NY and showed me how to rock my shoes so they looked harder than they actually was. Few years later he brought me up there and schooled me on the history of some kicks and copped me what would become my favorite pair of shoes: Air Max 95s. At first I thought they were square until he once again showed me how to step in em. I brought the OG Neons back to school that fall and the wave was set. Those and the black and gold Lebron IIIs had me set soph yr. My first collected pair and top 2 of my all times came senior yr when Nike dropped the first Animal Pack 95s. I had to get em. After that my love shifted to Penny’s. The Pearls were my first cop, and probably my fav shoe in my collection. I got plenty retro Foams as well as Penny 1s, 2s, and 4s but it something about those light tan bricks. I love Jays but I rarely cop. I have 3 pair, all are 1s. I own nearly 90 pairs of kicks but now I just try to stand out by customizing them. A 1of1 beats almost any hypebeast in my eyes.

I remember when the wheat 1’s were rumored to release. I was excited because the picture I had come across was IT. Super excited to even play along with whatever type of games SNKRS had going on for that release. I shouldn’t have been surprised when they actually dropped and they were a FLOP. Most of the time when a sneaker is rumored to be released its an extreme case of catfish. And boy was I catfished. The ugliest shoes I’ve ever seen, well one of the ugliest shoes. When I saw the actual pictures of them I was disappointed and I knew they were going to sit. It’s been a whole year and I swear I’ve seen the ghost of the sneaker just sitting in stores.

Sneaker head ... I wouldn’t consider myself as one , but I’ve grown to love the art of shoes. My very first shoe I’ve fell in love with was the doernbecher 4s back in the 9th grade ever since i went to a sneaker convention and that very shoe was there. I’ve been doing my research ever since, and the meaning behind that very shoe made it so much more valuable to me.

As sneakers became more innovative and color ways change my bestfriend was in the game way longer and gave me an outlook on why sneakers can be apart of your life I was more of a person who cop the latest remastered Jordan colorways etc. until I gained more knowledge ,went to more events and enjoyed every moment of sneaker talk conversations when we would chill or meet up.

Ever since then sneaker blogs , websites such as grailed, stock x , goat , and taking it back even soles&hoes on Facebook I would try to make sure I grabbed every distinct shoe. That’s exactly how I I got my hands on my reverse shattered backboards

Because my size in shoes are fairly small and it’s consider bae sizes the cost would be a little more than average but once I get a hold of most of my grails the price means nothing when the shoe holds value.

Rookie of the year 1’s. One word....wow. Just thinking about the numbers Jordan himself put up to get this title back in 1985. Do you know the type of impact you have to make to have a sneaker inspired by an outfit you worn? That’s really levels. Color way includes black, gold harvest and off white. The sneaker overall includes suede and leather and I’m such a sucker for suede. Jordan 1’s are 9/10 a hit so finalizing the idea with this specific model was perfect. Couldn’t picture it on any other model, that would be as fire as this one. Maybe in 2’s because we barely see this model anymore. Just the usual 1’s, 3’s, 10’s, 11’s, etc. So maybe it could’ve worked with an open mind.

CDG. COMME des GARÇONS. crazy how the hype over these has just grown in the past year with the sneakers alone. their clothes has always been a hit in my opinion. extremely over priced but it’s nice and simple just how I like it. I really like the polka dot low top pair but I also love seeing the high tops on people. The chucks are the only cdgs I actually like. The air maxes and the other pairs they have never interest me. The air maxes in my opinion are by far the worst. It’s just way too much for me and I don’t like the model to begin with so the colors just thrown on there make me sad.

Pharrell oh Pharrell, when it comes to sneakers he’s been doing his thing. I have one pair out of the fifty that he dropped in the supercolor superstar pack. When I first saw the collection I was like wow this man is wild to release this many shoes but nonetheless he catered to everybody’s favorite colors. I really wanted the olive pair and possibly the coral pair but turns out the adidas store I went to only carried ten of the colors. I was looking like “are you dumb?” how you only got ten out of fifty whole pairs??? but I ended up getting a baby blue pair which was still cute and I still have to this day. Even the pink was nice but I just ended up with one color which I still have to this day.

Tahoe, a Los Angeles based graffiti artist with an affection for sneakers. My all-time favorite sneaker is the Air Jordan 3, the black and cement colorway to be specific. Jordan 1's have become my go to model to rock, this classic silhouette has become a staple in my wardrobe.

I’m not a big Lebron fan I’ll admit it and his shoes haven’t been my favorite but I have to say there are a few pairs I can appreciate. It would be extremely predictable to sit hear and talk about the south beach 8’s which I feel are the best. But I’d like to discuss the 9’s I know a lot of people might’ve slept and never really realized the greatness that is the 9’s. Some of my favorites include the mangos, China’s, cannons, etc. The reason I like them is because when you hear the colors listed together it sounds like vomit and gets you thinking where the colors are placed if you’ve never seen the shoes before. But that wasn’t the case here. The colors all compliment each other which I think is hard to do especially if you don’t have the right shades. So 9’s really are it for me and were executed perfectly.

Favorite shoe: cherry 12s & Italian Red 21s . 12s because I just love them they so simple and clean .. 21s because I had the all white 21s in elementary and my homeboy had the red suede. I love the color of the shoe and that retro number is very very rare until this day I’m looking for a pair to get.

How long in the game : I been into sneakers since I was little . My parents brought my sister and I every retro and Nike there was. I continued getting shoes all throughout middle school and high school and I hopped in the resell game in the 9th grade . That is when “Soles & Hoes” came about on Facebook. The first shoe I ever sold was my cherry 12s, the ‘09 pair .

My favorite shoe of all time would be the space jams! I remember when they first came out in middle school I was all down my daddy back about them lmao! I been in the game since elementary I didn’t have a choice all my daddy did was buy me kicks, I slowed down a bit in high school because I wanted to be more “girly” lol I thought!!

My love for sneakers stems from my neighborhood, the neighborhood I grew up in. It was how you could make a name for yourself, everyone was coping the big homies, girls, children just about everybody so if you didn’t cop you were lame and left behind. That was one of the things people first notice about me, especially women so like any other man I continue to get sneakers, so I can attract women. But that was when I got older, I’ve been into sneakers since the 5th grade a pair of melo 5.5 and the Lebron III got me started. I treasured those because I had to cut my yard for both those shoes, that’s where it all began as I got older I collected more. I started learning the history behind the sneakers, and how limited they were which made the shoes more interesting for me. Then I started meeting others who are into sneakers as well I started attending events like dunk exchange and sneakercon, now I am here writing this post from my love of sneakers and people recognizing shot out to the soul. Diving into the top 3’s. Now when I first saw them I thought ok this is a lame concept until I saw them in person and I was like ok these are clean. Just the concept of taking crowd favorites and mashing them together, it worked! Gold toe 1’s were also great. I normally don’t like gold like I’ve stated before but these were IT as well. Also being 1’s makes it a W for me. Now don’t get me wrong there are some colorways that I can live without but just the simplicity of the Jordan 1’s is something a lot of people can’t deny. I do have to also point out the homage to home 1’s which I personally did not like not even in person. I saw them and automatically said “nah that ain’t it”. I really couldn’t believe those words came out of my mouth about some 1’s but those were just awful.
