Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts (process)

In this fascinating post, Karla Ortiz unveiled the creative process behind the creation of Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts's art, one of her many recent masterpieces.

“It all started by a small brief describing a smart, scheming, magnetic and ruthless woman in her 30’s. Her surroundings would be something between a lawyer’s office, and a necromancer’s lair. A room adorned by scrolls, strange devices, tomes, and somewhere slightly hidden in the background, the spirits that surround her.”

The details are overwhelming, and I’m really glad they picked her for the new Liliana card.

Card of the day: Blood-Chin fanatic

Synergizes with: Conspiracy or Xenograft to make it usable

Pros: Repeatable fling on a stick as life drain on a 3/3 for 3 holy fuck color me aroused.

Cons: I missed the warrior errata the first time I read it and almost blacked out. However the creature type lock will keep this from seeing much if any play.

Rating: oh the card that could have been was so, so glorious…

Fun Fact: Most disappointing card from this set, will burn all that I pull.

Card of the day: Clone Legion

Synergizes With: Someone having a board presence. You, them, anyone at the table.

Pros: Holy fuck almighty, if you aren’t aroused by the thought of resolving this nasty piece of work, you may want to see a doctor. 9 mana and you either double your own forces if you’re ahead or have a giant army of your own. This card would be well playable depending on the meta if it had target opponent as these things often do, but the ability to double your own stuff pushes this into rite of replication levels of staple, maybe even beyond.

Cons: ??? Only gonna be played in EDH really? 9 mana? ? It’s the biggest bomb out of this set for EDH.

Rating: I touch myself to this card

Fun Fact: I took last week off because this does get a little tiring at times and I HAD to beat every FNAF game again with 3 out. I didn’t. Oh well. I’m back and ready to geek out over concepts written on pieces of card board as defined with an imaginary system of rules.

I finally finished reading Magic the Gathering: The Brothers War!

I started this book around three years ago, but only ever picked it up to read whenever I had absolutely nothing else to do…  

I get motion-sick reading on trains, when I’m at home I prefer playing games to reading, at work I like to either play handheld games or browse the internet on my phone during breaks…  so I only ever read some of this book every few months.

It didn’t help that it wasn’t too engaging either, the book read like a sequence of events with very little dialogue, chronicle two peoples entire lives, from children to fairly old, and all the events they did and witnessed, such as marriage, their relationship with their children, political visits, their hobbies, their acquaintances, and so on…  it was interesting, but it felt like trying to read the bible.  All events, almost no dialogue.

I wanted to get this book out of the way so I can move onto the sequel by Lynn Abbey, who is one of my favourite authors.  Here’s hoping she injects some life into the setting!

When I brought him to my room for the first tyme he saw my magic cards and fell down laughing, he thought I was learning real magic tricks and not the card game. We've known each other for 3 years before we met in person, he was like "all this tyme I was like damn she's dedicated to that shit she's probably the next criss angel" It was 5:40 am one morning and he handed me a coffee mug and said " for you my queen " it was filled with diet Pepsi -_- he looked at me and said " what? " every tyme we played Mario cart for the wii when he would pass me I would always say " to soon junior " when we played blur (racing game) for the xbox 360 and he would pass me I would yell out " Nooo!! Monica!! " When I would play destiny and I had the highest score after a crucible match id always say "winnings winning wether it's by an inch or a mile" When we got home from skool we would get on halo reach asap and play till it was dark talk to each other on the fone about strategies while we walked to a gas station to get drinks and snacks and then get back home and play till we couldn't keep our eyes open and then I would text him all day about trying to find people to start a clan. I remember when we played halo 4 and id use the spartan shield and tell him will fight in the shade, I remember driving the warthog while he manned the gun and we would shout out "for Narnia!" , when we both could get a banshee we would fly them down into the enemy to get the flag and I'd yell out " but it is not this day" and he would finish it When he wouldn't get onto xbox live at 4:30 like we usually did after skool I would yell out " Hector!!! " over and over till I saw his gamer tag pop up on the screen and when he joined my party I always said " now you know who your fighting" and he always said "why the fuck do you always say that" it wasn't till 2 years later I got a text one day with OMFG your such a fucking loser and I knew he knew lol He handed me $20 dollars yesterday and I told him " what about second breakfast" and he said " reach has been good to me besides we all make it there one day" and hugged me and picked me up and walked up onto the sidewalk and pressed his forehead against mine and told me " a Spartan never dies " and I watched him get on the grey hound to go back to Texas, I never cried so much in my lyfe, it was the hardest goodbye i have ever been through, the hardest 5 years of my lyfe but he made it all worth it. Yesterday was the hardest day and today was suppose to be my greatest I feel like I have died even though I'm still alive

These are all the planeswalkers I have, I pulled Garruk, Ajani Goldmane, Elspeth Suns Champion and Nissa, Worldwaker, I traded for Elspeth Tirel, Xenagos the reveler and I bought Ajani Vengeant.

I was bored and in a big magic mood after sorting all my cards and no one to talk to about it lol manatapped might want to see my (what I think is a cool, others will think pathetic) collection of Planeswalkers lol

Card of the day: Phyrexian Negator

Synergizes with: actually had its own deck built around it and Hatred, creating the original suicide black deck.

Pros: 5/5 trample for 2B is ridiculously good

Cons: Sacrificing a permanent for every point of damage it takes is atrocious

Rating: An old card that did a lot of damage back in its day but just isn’t relevant anymore

Fun Fact: Besides essentially creating suicide black, this is the only card on the reserve list to be reprinted. There was a loop hole in their policy that allowed wizards to reprint reserve list cards in supplemental products like phyrexia vs coalition, However this made the secondary market shit their pants and there was an outcry so now we will never see Skeleton Ship vs Phelddagrif
