Delilah nodded and absentmindedly trailed her fingers across the fabric of the comforter. “The bed’s soft and all, but my blanket’s kinda old and scratchy.” The moment he moved onto the bed, Delilah pushed herself up into a sitting position to make more room for him, folding her legs criss cross style, her knee brushing against him. As discretely as she could, she sniffed him and was pleased to find that he smelled good. Surprisingly so, in fact. “I’m Delilah,” she smiled, extending her hand to him.
Elijah took her hand as gently as he could, and rather than shaking it he brought it to his lips. He placed a soft kiss to the back of her hand before releasing it. "Elijah," he replied with a smile. "It truly is a pleasure." He folded one leg across the other and placed his head in his hand. "So, Delilah, what brought you to Briarcliff?" He was interested, he could not deny it. This woman who so carelessly entered his room without a second thought. She didn't even know what she had walked into. But then again, how could she?
