Just wanted to drop in and let everyone know that I’m still around.
Despite popping in every now and then, I just couldn’t push myself to post much of any of my own content last year. After many failed attempts to share new builds and get my new story up and going, I decided to take an unannounced hiatus and instead, put my energy more toward my art and writing projects.
So, hobby-wise, much of my 2021 was spent reacquainting myself with art. I say ‘reacquainting’ because up until early last year, I hadn’t drawn anything since the spring of 2017.
There was an experience that I endured in late 2016 that made me extremely indifferent to my work. As a result, I just gave up and put all of my focus on school.
I have to say that buying TS4 for just $4.99 during the Black Friday Sale in 2016 was a true life saver. And joining this community in 2017 made things even better and played a crucial role in providing me joy and a sense of escape throughout my early 20s.
If I had to give 2021 a title, I would name it: “Rediscovery and No Exemptions.”
Rediscovery because I created a lot of art last year, both traditionally and digitally after nearly a five-year hiatus.
No Exemptions because from September on into the holiday season, my family and I endured things that we never thought would happen to us. Loss is so hard, but we are all holding up well now as we’ve accepted that those in which we lost are no longer suffering.
This pandemic has really taught me that no one is exempt. Life is so short.
As far as the future of my simblr is concerned, I think I’m going to post mostly build-related content and maybe some light gameplay here and there. My old laptop died last summer and the new one I’m using now is not as powerful so I’m trying to keep CC to a minimum and decrease the amount of time I spend in-game.
With all that being said, I hope everyone has been having a great year so far!
New content will be going up, soon! Thanks for sticking around with me over the years. Whether I’m active or not, this community will always hold a special place in my heart!
Henry, the storyteller of the family, was pulled aside by his parents after that big family photo was taken. Calvin and Pip were counting on Henry to tell their story. They gave him a map of where they lived while the farm was under construction, an old photo album and an old book left behind by Doc Moses detailing how he met his wife, Hazel.
Henry stayed up late nights to early mornings to finish that love story and managed to complete it just days before his parent’s passing. Copies were sent to every Greenwood descendant before going public. It, of course, is a bestseller and a love story that has resonated throughout Henford-On-Bagley and beyond.
Hey everyone, I know I’m not super active on Tumblr anymore but I felt it was important to come on and let everyone know some extremely sad news. It’s with a heavy heart that @engramplays and I have learned of @phoenixfg‘s passing.
On December 9th she updated us on twitter she was back in the hospital, and a few days later she passed. We didn’t learn of this news until today, and I’m not going to lie the news hit me like a truck. It took me all day to be able to make this post.
We’re going to be preparing a fundraiser for her family over the next week or two, but in the meantime, I’d appreciate if people shared this post to get the news out. She touched so many people’s hearts and was such a positive force in any gaming community she was a part of, not the least of which was The Sims community.
I would love to encourage anyone who feels up to it to share a story of their own about her.
Simblr has lost a truly kind person she was one my very first followers and she supported me and helped me unconditionally since the start truly one of the kindest poeple i have ever met
Man this news hurts so much. I literally just messaged her yesterday because she had been on my mind and I knew I hadn’t seen her around in a while. She was the kindest, most supportive soul in the community. Anything I’ve ever done, she was here for it and cheering me on all the way. The way she loved her family was so sweet and so inspiring and my heart breaks for them right now. May she Rest In Peace ❤️
