We are beyond grateful that we have been able to navigate covid. Diversification (and sheer grit) was crucial. One of the things that came out as a positive for us, is the ability to make our remote services stronger, particularly editing clients audio. We have noticed that a lot of podcasts are popping up and the need to edit that audio to make it the best possible listening experience can be a task. Factors such as an untreated room or mic choice can be the difference in sustaining an audience or not. That’s where we step in. We want to be able to take those variables out of the equation of your podcast so that your listeners are constantly engaged with your topic. I still can’t believe it. The fact that the dream in my head is the dream that I walk in is a miracle to me. I have been dealing a lot with imposter syndrome lately and I have to admit, I find myself asking why more than anything. It’s been hard to get passed being passed up, or being overlooked, or feeling the ever dangerous feeling of not good enough. Then I remember, there are plenty like me and I’m not alone and it’s ok to feel not ok as long as you can surround yourself with positivity and the faith to know that on the other side of fear are your dreams. These album releases used to feel like a huge sense of self worth. Now, it’s the humbling experience of being apart of someone’s story and feeling like that song was for me to step into a moment much needed. I can’t believe it’s been a year since Folklore. To think of all of the life events that have happened between then and now. Who knew that answering the phone would have propelled me to where I am now. So much uncertainty, so much gloom, so much hurt in this world and yet…so much family time, so much growing, so much learning, so much friendship and of course so much music. With that one phone call, a prospective client, who I almost blew off, turned into a magical journey. So many late night sessions wondering where these tracks were coming from. So many crazy stories that can only be shared in person. I have always wanted to be apart of something that would separate me from the ordinary and I really thought that it would. On the contrary being apart of Folklore didn’t separate me, it drew me closer to the things that have helped me get to that phone call. That is what the music means to me. It’s been a strange 7 days for me emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. A few days ago, the amazing songwriter @clairo released her new album Sling where I had the opportunity to record strings with my friend @bobbyhawkmusic. As I was listening to the album, I felt like I could finally catch my breath and really have things slow down, even for a moment. I really needed that. Just being able to realize where I am and where I’m going has been good for me right now. Thank you @bobbyhawkmusic for being a good friend and continuing to trust in me with your talent.
