“We’re heavily fortified. We don’t need to worry about the walkers. However as humans we do always need to find something to be concerned about. And I’m sure there are piles and piles of personal problems that you’ve been meaning to get too.” She arched a brow, a smirk pulling at her lips.

"Maybe there are piles of personal problems, but I'm focusing on the fact that we're in the middle of the apocalypse first." He glanced at her, eyes narrowing.

“So you’re a werewolf? Awesome,” She says with a smile. “I never really talked with a werewolf much lately, so excuse me if I don’t act normal.”

"Yes, I'm a werewolf." He shrugged, "I'm used to seeing abnormal behavior."

“I’m new here,” She looks at him with a smile on her face “My name is Kia, Kia Smith. And who may you be?”

"Derek. Derek Hale." He looked at her, "Resident Alpha."

“Same here,” Kia hums once more with a shrug of her shoulders and placing her hands behind her back.

He glanced at her, "I don't think I've seen you around before."

He looked out as well, eyes narrowing, “You see something, Beth?”

Beth bit her lip and nodded. “Yup. Just a few walkers,” She said softly and took the rifle and began shooting them down in the forehead, watching the walkers’ body fall to the ground lifeless.

He nodded, watching her take out the walkers, eyes darting around to see if any others were close by, "I don't see any others right now."

“I did. Yeah. He’s great!” Although only briefly, he did exchange a few words with Stiles the same day he got to Mystic Falls. Good fella. “Nice to meet you Derek!”

"He is really great." He bowed his head, smiling, "It's nice to meet you too." He gave a small, slightly hesitant smile.

“Derek Hale.” He walked with her, hands in his own pockets.

Beth nodded and took a sniper and looked around. “Nice to meet you Derek Hale,” She said softly and squinted her eyes, thinking she saww a walker.

He looked out as well, eyes narrowing, "You see something, Beth?"

“I guess I can understand why everyone’s practically jumping at the chance to do something other than surviving.”

“Maybe cause they just want to get their minds off of something other than monsters that are trying to eat them alive,” She hums softly.

"Can't fault them for that, honestly. Then again, I'm used to dealing with things that would be happy to eat me."

“Oh, who’s your mate? Maybe I met him already…” Ethan smiled. He was always for some action, and especially if there was a chance to kill some of the undead. “Anytime you want, dude.” he nodded his head. “I’m Ethan, by the way.”

"Stiles is my mate." He let a smile cross his face, "He's met quite a few of the others in town, so I guess you might have met him." He looked at the other man, "I'm Derek."

“Sure, why not?”

Beth nodded a bit and began to walk towards the watch towers. “I’m Beth Greene. You?” She said and put her hands in her jacket pockets.

"Derek Hale." He walked with her, hands in his own pockets.

“Anybody wiling to keep me company while I keep watch of walkers?” Beth asked.

"Sure, why not?"

Ethan chuckled, “No one is forcing you to go, right?” he shrugged. “I am gonna go, cuz it’s gonna be fun… But I’d gladly make a run into an un-cleared area too…”

"My mate will be upset, but...I have a plan to make it up to him." He shrugged, "Good thing you're up for it. It'd be nice to have back-up just incase."
