Hi I’m Lore! I recently got my bachelors degree in Digital Art, and after lurking around here for years, I decided to make a dedicated space to post my Fanart and OCs!

My #1 special interest is Star Trek, but I also like BBC Sherlock, Supernatural, Animal Crossing, Studio Ghibli, Pokémon, and other things I’ll post in between.

I am developmentally/physically disabled. Please be patient if i don’t understand something or take a while to reply to asks. A bit of kindness can go a long way. :)

Icon of The Fleet!

You’ve met her crew! Now it’s time to finally introduce the lady of the hour: The USS Britannica!

The Britannica is an Einstein Class Science Vessel Equipped with State of the art Starfleet Tech for all types of surveys and scientific studies. She features a modern Sheild shaped saucer and a sleek looking hull with blue accent lighting, while maintaining the classic body style of much beloved Constitution Class vessels of the past. Her most unique feature can be seen in action; as her nacelles are built to expand and retract for faster speeds or evasive manoeuvres. With a top speed of warp 9.98 and the registry number of Pi, she’s ready to take her crew on their next adventure!

Thank you! My main crew has been a good 5 years in the making and my expanded roster of other Star Trek OCs still grows!

My real life has been pretty busy lately so I haven’t had much time to sit down and work on new art as much as I’d like, but opening my dash to such a lovely compliment made my day! :)

Tribbles for your Troubles!

Tribbles have become popular pets amongst the crew on the USS Britannica. Here are a few of them along with their eccentric personalities.

1. Spike

Small yet fierce, he seems to enjoy picking fights with anyone, despite the lack of arms or legs. Varillia often has trouble taking him on walks around the crew deck because he constantly jumps off her shoulder to confront and chirp at officers or potted plants.

2. Greeley

The “tired old man” of the tribble world, he always seems to be (grumble?) purring over some kind of annoying frustration. Except food. Food is the solution to everything. That or head pats from his owner Lt. T’Ezi.

3. Hi’Chiro

Quiet and calm, She is Hu’Raku’s certified emotional support animal. She is trained to offer him solace in times of grief and sadness, as well as companionship to share moments of joy with.

4. I-Yacha

A menace to society at four feet tall with the energy of a chihuahua. It enjoys going on walks bowling through the corridors (to the dismay and fear of all). Subok is attempting to train them to be a service animal but it’s very much a work in progress.

Have you ever seen a Vegan Moopsy Before?

Well now you have! Introducing Cauliflower the 98% Vegan Moopsy. Born with the inability to unhinge her jaw to slurp bone, she’s taken to enjoying soft rice and veggies instead. She lives with Lue the Changling who is thankfully boneless. Fellow Starfleet officers can rejoice as she only gives harmless flat teeth nibbles if she likes you.

Meet the Crew! Part 10

Varillia grew up in a poverty stricken town on Andoria. Despite this, she grew up in a loving home. Her family ran a small business making/selling traditional hand painted Andorian pottery and tiles. However, Tragedy struck when her parents’ shuttle was attacked by Romulans when flying to finalising a business deal on Desp Space 7 and Varillia found herself succumbing to the poverty and homelessness her parents worked so hard to raise her out of. While living on the streets, Varillia honed her skills for Survival. After some time wasting away her life, she wanted off the miserable ice rock. So after some careful planning she stowed away on a Starfleet vessel, and eventually landed in foster care on Earth. Eventually she chose to put everything into becoming a Starfleet officer herself, fueled by a hatred of Romulans; hoping to travel the Galaxy and cross paths with her family’s killer to exact revenge. Over the years since then, she’s climbed to Lt Commander, and serves as the head of Tactical and Security on the USS Britannica.

I actually realised Undyne the Undying sort of ended up subconsciously Inspiring Varillia’s character a good year or so after I created her. In the Beginning my idea was: Strong Loud and Buff Lesbian Woman who will not hesitate to step on you and the revelation just kind subsequently followed afterwards.

Meet the Crew! Part 9

Lue was born in a vial from a tossed Ketrecel White Cargo Container; abandoned after not being sealed properly. Found by a Starfleet crew of Vulcans on a patrol route, It was brought to the Vulcan Science Academy for observation. Apparently some Founder DNA mixed with the chemicals and created life. It soon began communicating by changing like a mood ring.

Lue grew in size and mimicked the Vulcan’s bipedal features and pointed ears. Eventually it learned to speak in the third person based on how the Scientists would talk to/about them. After the war ended, Lue was free to go and do what it desired. Despite their Anxiety… Lue picked Starfleet. It serves as an Jr Engineering Ensign on the USS Britannica due to their ability to shift into complex tools, access cramped spaces, and serve as replacement parts in an emergency.

Odo is definitely in the top 3 of my favourite DS9 Characters. I enjoyed how mysterious his origins were and how he had a sort of “Lost and Found” character arc. That was something that definitely contributed to the way I developed Lue’s very unique backstory.

Another thing was that i didn’t want Lue’s primary state limited to one colour. I asked myself if there was a way to be all the colours, but not in a way that was too flashy and the answer was in those gimmicky mood rings that I thought were cool when I was 12. So that’s where Lue’s Unique Colour changing comes from!

Meet the Crew! Part 8

Marris is an Aenar. Her parents are both Aenar. And yet, Marris was born mute instead of blind. Being gifted with sight meant she didn’t inherit the linked gene for telepathy that her people were accustomed to, This made learning to communicate more difficult, especially before she was old enough to receive her Assistive Communication Device (A.C.D).

After spending years following the perfect path for their “miracle child” that her parents had laid out for her, she grew tired. Desperate to forge her own path, she begged her family to let her apply to Starfleet Academy. Two years later she’s found herself onboard the USS Britannica as part of a field training program, where she hopes to discover her true calling, and advocate for herself.

After seeing the Aenar being more prominently featured in SNW Season 1, (Shout out to my man Hemmer) it led me down a path of pure speculation. So unlike my other characters who are based on visually recognizable things, Marris stemmed from the Question: “What if an Aenar was born mute instead of Blind?”

Aside from that, Marris was also my attempt at creating a character that has a design that pushes a bit outside of my comfort zone. My go to body type is often twiggy, tall, and on occasion muscular. by contrast, Marris is on the shorter side of my Character Lineup and I made her body type pear shaped.

Meet the Crew! Part 7

Dr Watts is a Veteran of the Dominion War, having been sent to the front lines straight out of Star fleet Medical. He served as a field medic during the war before returning to Earth after being wounded in action. While spending a few years back home recovering from his injury and managing his PTSD, he married twice; first to his beloved wife, and then to his wife’s husband who he has a platonic relationship with. From his past he has grown into a hardworking, courageous, and loyal man. He has now returned to Starfleet alongside his family and serves as Chief Medical Officer of the USS Britannica.

Given that I had a Vulcan based on Sherlock Holmes, it was only fair that I create a Star Trek-ified version of his partner in crime: Dr John Watson. Much like his counterpart, Dr Watts is based on the version of the character from the BBC Sherlock TV series.

Meet the Crew! Part 6

Hu’Raku is the first born hatchling of his people’s Emperor. As Heir to the throne, he was educated in a variety of subjects in preparation to rule. But after his brother was born, his father made it clear that his younger sibling was the better candidate for the crown. After realising he’d never make his father proud, Hu’Raku chose to commit treason against his isolationist society and escape the planet entirely.

Accepting that his family would now consider him exiled and unable to return lest be killed, Hu’Raku started over. While he does struggle with loneliness being one of a few of his species in Starfleet, he proudly serves as a Jr Lieutenant Diplomacy Specialist, where he approaches all with an equal amount of acknowledgment, and adoration for learning new things.

Hu’Raku was inspired by a mix of Haku the Dragon from Spirited Away and Prince Zuko from Avatar the Last Airbender. He is a member of a custom dragon species called the Draji. Originally called the Vei’Ratyn, they were created by a friend of mine before being transferred to me. The Drajians as they are now, are inspired by a mix of Chinese and Japanese culture.
