i think its very sexy how millennials are very anti-ad. like. ads were invented to encourage us to buy stuff. but me and all my friends? if we see an ad for something it fills us with rage. a pure hatred. if you interrupt my twitch stream or my stupid TV show for you stupid product i will hate you product for the end of time. i will spit on it whenever i see it. your ad doesnât work on me. it doesnât make me want to buy your shitty thing. it makes me want to piss on your shitty thing. fuck you ad companies.Â
Skill Share? Sounds like an incredibly useful service for learning and gaining knowledge. But i will never use it now, because it has appeared in so many youtube videos, advertised by so many creators, all telling me to use their shitty little link and try the free trial. Same with Audible, and Curiosity stream, and 23 and me, and Nord VPN, and Express VPN, and Dashlane, etc, etc, etc... The more i see these ads over and over again the less i want to buy them, it is just so annoying, having it DRILLED into your skull so much.
And Raid: Shadow Legends? Fuck that. I genuinely hope whoever made that game commits suicide.

Iâm not American, but if you are, please do everything you can to stop these laws that will censor many of these websites, get these bills removed. Because despite them being American laws, they will affect everyone, lots of websites will be affected all because theyâre from American owned companies. ONCE THE TIME COMES AND THE LAWS GO INTO AFFECT, STOP USING THE WEBSITES THAT FOLLOW THOSE LAWS ALTOGETHER! Why? Because once these companies start realising people arenât using their platform anymore, and they arenât earning money, theyâre going to want to put an end to whatever is causing the massive drop in users. That doesnât mean you shouldnât go and contact your local congress member to try and get these laws put down, if you are an American, and you have the power, you absolutely should. But you know whoâs likely to have more sway over the senate then a few voters? THESE BILLION DOLLAR COMPANIES WHO WILL BE LOSING USERS AND REVENUE BECAUSE PEOPLE DONâT WANT TO USER THEIR WEBSITES ANYMORE.Â
Get these greedy corporations to use their power for something good for once. Stop using their services, or at least use them less often, delete your account, uninstall the apps for them, whatever you have to.
Domestic 'violence' against men is valid as violence against women. That's why they haven't opened up any shelters for them yet!
Okay, Iâm done seeing this. Iâm done with people like you acting all high and mighty against men because âmen are trashâ or some other shit you are probably going to reply to me with.Â
Years ago, my twin brother got into a relationship with a woman. She was sweet, kind, and seemed supportive. The exact kinda relationship you want to see a family member get into. But little by little, day by day, my brother started talking and hanging out with me. At first I thought it was something I did, maybe I said something wrong. But no, this bitch told my brother to stop spending with any female woman he knows, including family. Of course, warning bells go off in my head, but I chose to ignore them. Like you, I was close minded at one point and believed that men couldnât be abused. I will regret this decision for the rest of my life.
The violence soon began after she trapped him. Yes I use the word trap, because thatâs basically what happened. She didnât let him out of the house because she âlovedâ him and was scared he would leave her. He wasnât allowed to go to parties because he might cheat on her. He was alone with this woman, who even controlled how long he spent online and where he went. (She used parent controls.)
The violence began as minor stuff, pushing him or âaccidentallyâ stepping on his feet or hands. But like most domestic violence cases, it just got worst. The big one first happened when she slapped him across the face after he refused to not come to our dadâs birthday celebration. She âapologizedâ and then said that she wouldnât do that if he would just listen to her.
He tried, oh gods above did my brother try to keep her happy. It was no longer about because he loved her, but he was scared that she would hurt him or destroy something precious to him. She started misgendering him (my brother transitioned from FtM), insulting him, making fun of his likes and hobbies. She would destroy his photos or personal belongings like clothes.
One day, enough was enough, and after she took paused from punching him during an argument, he pushed her hard enough that she fell to the floor, and he ran to the bathroom to call me to come and help him. At this point, I did basic research about domestic violence against men (something you obviously havenât OP) and knew something horrible was going on. I quickly drove over to their house, not home⊠never home, and picked him up as she was screaming on the porch to have him arrested for âhurtingâ her.
Just a few hours later, after cleaning himself up and me bandaging any wounds on him, the police showed up to our house. Our first though, as Native Hawaiians, was âoh fuck.â So after hearing his side of the story, you know what this PO did? He arrested my brother! On the charges of domestic violence. For you ask? Pushing her. Yeah, that thing my brother did in self defense? Got him arrested.
He soon got released on flimsy charges, and this bitch tried to get together with him again. Not making the same mistake twice, we got him to place a restraining order against her. The police wouldnât do shit, so he had to get a restraining order.
And after all of this, my brother still doubts that he went through domestic violence, because people like OP exist who believe that women are fragile and weak against the strong and unbreakable men. And letâs just forget about same sex relationships, even though there is a same sex domestic violence epidemic happening.
Ignoring this idiotic, sexist OP for a second. I beg anyone reading this, if you or a love one is going through domestic abuse, or believe you are, I beg you, as someone who made the mistake of not taking action for so long, to not make the same mistake I did. It doesnât matter if you are a man, woman, or nonbinary. Nobody deserves to go through such a difficult situation, much less to feel like nobody is one their side. (Like OP.) Please, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Their number is 1-800-799-7233. You are not alone.
There was one in Canada.
WAS being the key word because when the person who opened it did so, he was ridiculed, attacked and harassed over it all while the government never paid him enough to keep it going. Then he committed suicide.
⊠The funny thing is that Iâm not making this up.
Imagine that the genders were reversed:
That a woman opened up a woman abuse shelter, the only kind in her country, and because of that was attacked until it failed and she killed herself.
If youâre disgusted by that image OP, youâre a hypocrite. Because the only thing that changed in that scenario is the gender.
Sometimes you just want science to get to the point that you could throat punch someone through their phone line. That OP is one of those times.
Thereâs no funding for menâs shelters. Thereâs no real support for changing the laws to be equal either. âBut feminists are working to change that!â No they arenât, they have actively worked to prevent dv/da laws AND rape laws changing to protect men. Once again, feminism, like op, is cancer.
I may be wrong but werenât there twice times that someone tried to open a shelter for men like me and that didnât end well.
I love seeing these misandrist little bitches get educated in the notes. Anyway, men CAN be abused and I hope that anyone who is is able to get out of their situation. You donât deserve abuse, male or female.
As the world faces environmental disaster on a biblical scale, it's important to remember exactly who brought us here.
This week, the United Nations released a damning report. The short version: We have about 12 years to actuallydo something to prevent the worst aspects of climate change. That is, not to prevent climate changeâweâre well past that pointâbut to prevent the worst, most catastrophic elements of it from wreaking havoc on the worldâs population. To do that, the governments of Earth need to look seriously at the forces driving it. And an honest assessment of how we got here lays the blame squarely at the feet of the 1 percent.
Contrary to a lot of guilt-tripping pleas for us all to take the bus more often to save the world, your individual choices are probably doing very little to the worldâs climate. The real impact comes on the industrial level, as more than 70 percent of global emissions come from just 100 companies. So you, a random American consumer, exert very little pressure here. The people who are actively cranking up the global thermostat and threatening to drown 20 percent of the global population are the billionaires in the boardrooms of these companies.
There are probably no individuals who have had a more toxic impact on public and political attitudes about climate change than the Koch brothers, and it would take an absurd amount of space to document all the money and organizations theyâve scraped together for that purpose. (Investigative reporter Jane Mayerâs groundbreaking Dark Money does basically that.) And they have every reason to: In her book, Mayer notes that âKoch Industries alone routinely released some 24 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere a year.â
But the scope goes far beyond merely sowing dissent and skepticism. While billionaires and the companies they run have spent years insisting that climate change either doesnât exist or is overblown, theyâve known the reality of the situation for a long time. PayPal cofounder Peter Thiel, for example, used to donate to the Seasteading Institute, which aimed to build floating cities in order to counteract rising sea levels. And Exxon Mobil allegedly knew about climate change in 1977, back when it was still just Exxon and about 11 years before climate change became widely talked about. Instead of acting on it, they started a decades-long misinformation campaign. According to Scientific American, Exxon helped create the Global Climate Coalition, which questioned the scientific basis for concern over climate change from the late â80s until 2002, and successfully worked to keep the U.S. from signing the Kyoto Protocol, a move that helped cause India and China, two other massive sources of greenhouse gas, to avoid signing.
For everyoneâs information:
The plan for the 17th, when the adult content ban comes in, is to protest.
To do that, we are making as much noise either side of the 17th as possible, and using the site as normal.
On the 17th, dead silence.
People are saying log off but what they really mean is donât open the site or the app.
But, on the 17th make as much noise as possible on every other platform. Tweet about it and post on facebook and instagram and everywhere else.
What this does is causes a massive dip in ad revenue for one single day. That does not make staff think âoh everyoneâs gone letâs shut down.â What it actually makes them think is âoh shit people arenât happy and if people donât keep using our site weâre out of money and out of jobs.â
A boycott reminds a company that the users (consumers) have the power to make their site (business) worthless with one single coordinated decision.
If you want to join in, hereâs what to do:
Do:
Close all open instances of the app and site on all your devices before the 17th
Make posts before and after the 17th on tumblr and other platforms, talking about why this ban is bad
Make posts on other sites during the 17th. Flood the official tumblr staff twitter and facebook with your anger and your opinion
Come back on the 18th and check in
Donât:
Delete the app from your phone (this doesnât affect their revenue and since itâs off the store at the moment itâll be hard to get back)
Delete your account. I mean you can if you want to, but if you keep your account and donât use it youâre saying to staff that thereâs still time to save it. If you delete itâs hard work to come back.
Open the app or website (including specific blogs)
Make any posts (turn down/off your queue and make sure nothing is scheduled)
Go quiet elsewhere. Make it clear that this is just about tumblr, not a mass move away from all social media.
Remember: the execs donât care about anything but money. Shutting down the site means thereâs $0 further income from it. Thatâs their last possible course of action. If we make it clear weâre not happy, theyâll have to do something or we can do more and more until it becomes too expensive.
Protests take commitment. Theyâre a defiant action against a business that is doing something wrong. They will try to scare you into not participating, because theyâre scared. We hold all the power here, sometimes the execs just need to be reminded of that.
PLEASE PARTICIPATE THIS NEEDS TO BE BIG SO WE NEED TO FOLLOW THROUGH!
