Moderation
We seek moderation, 'That's the key to life' I hear, But I bounce from one side to another.
I hadn't read a book for a month, Now I binged read two novels.
I went from being bullied, To be the bully, But made the mistake of thinking I was just funny.
Too quiet, Too loud, How'd Little Bear figure it out?
She was an ordinary girl
Is this deep, or high? Or yes
She was an ordinary girl.
She had a mother and a father, and two sets of grandparents.
But she also had two homes, an extra stepmother and stepfather, and an extra grandfather.
No siblings at birth, a half-brother as a gift at one, but gained an older step-brother at ten.
She was an ordinary kid, except she couldn’t stay seated cross-legged.
Her bladder full, she would not even notice.
Her words were scrambled, r’s came out as l’s, and she rather play by herself.
Her shoes gained extra pieces, her classes were retaught later in smaller groups.
Counselling was added, and different studies done, to see if her struggles with reading were focus-based, or lettering coming undone.
This all may be why she never understood, What an ordinary child meant.
Birds got like cluck legs, ya know?
My coffee now has been lost in the goodfight, as it holds a spider bent on ending my life
Stupid 7/11 coffee cups being domed at the bottom
She was around for four-fifths of my life, my buddy, bestie, and my sister at heart. I asked for a sibling, I got a kitten. She was introduced to me on my fifth birthday, only half a year in age. She stayed 'till twenty, and I six months shy of twenty-five. She was here for my kindergarten graduation,
first-communion, first-reconciliation, confirmation, yes I was Catholic at the time,
She shares a birthday with my husband.
More like a taco 🌮
Wait!
I need you!
...Oh, I do have balls.
If you didn't get a joint from a supervisor, did you really have a work meeting?
Spitting on the floor or choking in the sink
"Yeah, well, happy birthday I guess."
My story outline from this prompt:
Cheryl is a twin actor with her sister Lindsay. They were always linked together, but not by choice – at least not Cheryl's choice. The police believe she ran away with an unknown man, though they do not know if he was another runaway or if it became a kidnapping. When Lindsay went missing Cheryl began taking long walks, her community believed in search of her twin. It ends with the discovery Cheryl had been the one catfishing her sibling and made her disappear (possibly on the verge of selling her?), with the closing sentence of...
"Yeah, well, happy birthday I guess."
I wonder if I'll finish writing the rough draft I started.
The closest description I could give was the feeling of a somersault underwater: loss of direction but weightless and free. Within my chest was a tightness, and the air felt heavier.
"Well too fucking oops... You bitch"

"I was thinking about planting a small pot of grass on my balcony, so that i can touch it. When im feeling...... just crazy."
- Karina Drawfee, "Thought Experiments" 6/5/23
I mean... would it work? just a pot of grass to to touch? how much of this is really a joke
