Genre: Pop Punk The Wonder Years are hands down one of my favourite bands, and got there quickly. 'The Upsides' instantly clicked with me, and since then, my love for them has just increased rapidly. I'm stoked to see them at Warped this year (one of the main reasons for me going, as well as The Early November and some others) and to have their new album in my ears all summer. Genuine and passionate dudes making genuine and passionate music. Check it out, get into it.

Genre: Doom Metal Sorry for the lack of posts over the weekend, it was crazy! (Happy St Patty's everyone). Now that we're back on track, here's a psychedelic little number by doom metal quartet Blood Ceremony. Straight out of Toronto ON, and have toured with doom giants such as Electric Wizard. This 7 min epic from their 2nd album "Living With the Ancients" features mind bending solos, beautiful vocals, and the most metal flute I've ever fucking heard. seriously, if you can incorporate a flute into a metal band, and still sound metal as fuck, all the power to ya. What's up, you guys. New guy here - name's Andrew. Hi, hey, how's it goin'? I'm not good with these things. Okay. I've fallen in love with The Polyphonic Spree (that band with a million members) pretty hard lately. I came back to their album 'The Fragile Army' after hearing it a couple years ago, and something just clicked. Magic, just like the album. Check out "Section 31: Overblow Your Nest". It's a slower one, but it's my favourite currently. Genre: Symphonic Pop Rock

Genre: Metal Boys and girls, this has been stuck on heavy replay as of late. My girlfriend is a big fan of these guys and she's finally gotten me into them. I wasn't ready for this! BMTH has really progressed over the years, and obviously sounds nothing like this anymore. However, not necessarily a bad thing. Sempiternal (Their new album coming out next month), is amazing, and the full album can be streamed on Soundcloud now, so go check that out and see for yourself. Count Your Blessings holds a special little place in my heart, back before they we're focused on giving their music more sustenance, and instead just pounding out the breakdowns. Steady drums, guitar riffs sweet as a sugar coated butthole, and Ollie slaughters (in the best way) the vocals throughout this album, especially in this song. Get ready to throw down people, this song is going to get you revved right up. Genre: Metal Shouts out to my new favorite williammason.tumblr.com for introducing me to such an awesome song! Released on March 11th, 2013, off of their album One Of Us Is The Killer, due out 05.14.13 on Sumerian Records (the people who bring you Periphery, The Faceless, The HAARP Machine, and many many many more). As if that wasn't enough to get me stoked for this track, but I haven't heard much from DEP in a while. And they're not wasting a fucking second. Just the intro notes gave me chills. This track is nothing but brutal, in your face, METAL. 100% worth a listen. Be sure to prance (oh my god as if i just said that) down to your local record store for their new album "One Of Us Is the Killer" Other notable tracks off One Of Us Is the Killer: I legit don't know. Cause... the album isn't out, and from my understanding this is the only single out right now. But it's more than enough for me! Genre: Rap You ready to bring da ruckus? No one goes harder than the Wu. This is a seriously thuggin track, and now I'm realizing I am way to fucking white to do this review justice. Point is, this is a classic hit. Toss this on the next time you go for a stroll, and just try not to do it with a gangsta lean. You can't, trust me. You've been told...Wu Tang Clan aint nothin to fuck with. Keep that in mind kids. You just learned something today. This song will get you GOING! The first time I heard it, I thought I popped a molly cause I was sweatin. You know what I'm saying. This is a track that will seriously get the party started. Genre: Metal Now, I wont usually do this, but I'm going to post 2 metal songs today, due to the passing of the late, great, Clive Burr, as well as the celebration of Steve Harris's birthday. The most prolific, and greatest band on earth if you ask me, Iron Maiden, with their monster track "Hallowed Be Thy Name". A very nice throwback to the simpler days of powerful British metal, Iron Maiden attack full force, leaving the listener picking their jaw back up off the floor when all is said and done. Ending the critically acclaimed knockout record "The Number of the Beast", this song boasts amazing musicianship across the board, and a meaty main riff that's sure to be echoing through your head long after the track is over. This album was the last Clive Burr recorded with Maiden, and one of the bands greatest achievements. Genre: Metal What better way to kick things off than with the hit track "Lay Your Ghosts to Rest" by the powerhouses who go by the name of Between the Buried and Me. This song punches you in the face and takes you on a roller coaster ride, immediately pummeling your sweet little ear holes. The song progresses to feature what I consider one of Paul Swaggners greatest guitar moments (about 2:15-2:20 into the song). Insane drums, dirty ass bass lines, and Tommys sweet vocals, this is everything we've come to expect from BTBAM, and more. Pick up The Parallax II: Future Sequence at your local record store, and prepare to be swept off your feet.
