I know that having neurodivergent characters represented by aliens has its critics and for extremely real reasons!!! but I'm thinking about how much I'd love to see a character in an alien society where being part of a system is just another normal variation of existence. BECAUSE IT IS!!! but I want to see it treated that way in fiction!

when the system character is introduced to the protag, another character mentions that "there are other people besides them that you'll probably meet as time goes on!" and when the protag meets the other people in the system, they just. treat them like normal people. learn their names and mannerisms. quick to pick up on differences. etc. I just want the system to be! just a bunch of cool people alongside the other characters in the story!!!

we have a lot of rep focusing on the struggles of being part of a system. and that's incredibly important and worth exploring! it's often a big part of living this way! but for THIIIS character. I would love for the majority of the focus to be on individual system members' struggles! ordinary shit!!! the same way that not every trans character needs a whole arc about dysphoria and self acceptance.

I've been listening to the new soundtracks since they dropped (ATLA Book 3 soundtrack!! Ah! The memories!!) and with the movie and then the trailer for the show... all I can think about is 'where's Suki?!' rn (To be fair, I haven't read the comics, so maybe it's answered there or in that movie I haven't watched yet?)
