Coca-Cola, anyone? (On the left, end of scene. I'm assuming the ai plopped this in because it's in Blade Runner. That's a huge fuckin' billboard for only being as high up as the 2nd floor, btw. I'd be embarrassed explaining that to a visiting extraterrestrial. "Oh, that? Yeah, it's a sugary carbonated drink that can be used to dissolve baby teeth and the rust off of nuts and bolts. Very popular. No, no, that isn't their headquarters- It's advertising. They just want to remind people that they exist and they have so much money they can just put their name anywhere they'd like, so it's right in your face. Just to remind you. Consume more. Yeah, it could be used as a space for a message of peace and love, like, 'Hey, at least *attempt* to be kind to your fellow living being' but, nah.")
What in tarnation disney-fication is goin' on? In comparison, makes my stuff look somewhat nightmarishly sci-fi grindhouse-y.
Actually, I don't mind the random cutesy versions of Sally and Gary (sometimes Malkermin) when they pop up, it isn't too, too often that it happens.
The Willem-Dafoe-ifications of Warlord Bill happen all too frequently. In a generation of 4 images, I'd be lucky if one of them wasn't Willem Dafoe. It got to the point where I had to contact Runway's customer service - which, you might guess, is also AI - and ask for advice. Did you think I was gonna say complain? Contact customer service and COMPLAIN about Willem Dafoe? No, no. Willem Dafoe is a national treasure, nay, a global gift. We should all be so lucky to have Willem Dafoe in each and every one of our pictures. I really just wanted advice on how to make that NOT happen.
The interesting thing about this to me was that I just stated the problem simply and flatly and directly, as I would to another human, "When I generate images using a specific reference image for a specific character, the AI output is almost always real-life actor Willem Dafoe instead of the reference image character. This isn't a joke." The AI just accepted it and replied that based on the overall prompt, reference image and base model the AI was using to generate from, these elements together were enough to cause this specific problem. Perfect storm of generative shit (that's my 2 bits, the AI didn't allude to that idea). It then gave me a bunch of suggestions, almost all of which I'd already tried, but was overall good advice.
I feel like if it was a human customer service person I was talking to, I'd have to really clarify and explain further- "No, identically Willem Dafoe..." and "He's got the costuming and hair of the character, but IT IS Willem Dafoe in those elements..." and "The reference character doesn't even look like Willem Dafoe, more like a methed-out Mick Jagger..."
