Constellations Unplugged...
Thank you for everything, Goodbye Volcano High. Thank you, KO_OP.

hi! I'm a queer writer (hopefully author soon) who was massively impacted by gvh. like, "go outside and look at the stars for an hour then throw away my manuscript to start a whole different book" impacted.
your work course-corrected me from writing a flashy action movie to something much slower and more emotional (with alot more gay werewolves).
and first I'd like to thank you. gvh changed me and my art.
but secondly I'd like to ask if it would be appropriate to pay tribute or mention or somehow reference gvh in my novel? it's already there if you look for it, it's unmistakeably a thematic response to what gvh is saying, but I want to do something more explicit. I want people to know "fang was here", and to see that those constellations really did inspire other people.
uh yeah. kind of a long rambling ask. what would you want and/or feel comfortable with? thankyou for what you've done.
Thank you, this is incredibly kind. I hope you don't mind that I've shared this with my coworkers-- one of them actually has a background in publishing, and mentioned that depending on the route you take, a larger publisher may insist on getting the 'rights' to mention GVH or KO_OP by name. It's not impossible, just something to be prepared for.
But however you decide to do it, please feel free...and please let us know what you do! I love the idea of work being created in conversation with GVH. For a game that is so deeply routed in the importance of self-expression and creativity despite the odds, the highest honor we can get is for people to make work that continues to explore those themes. We're deeply flattered by this and are excited to see what you make!!
Together at the end.
An assortment of various GVH social media memes I've done over the past few months.
Hehe
Do you see applying what you and the team learned making GVH on an animated movie / tv series? Or would you rather make more games like it?
Good question - I'd love working on an animated movie or TV series! A lot of people who worked on GVH came from that side of media and we took a lot of inspirations from our favorite movies and shows (obviously!). That said I've always loved video games and I really enjoy designing for them. Not to mention that each project lets you kind of try something totally new. Honestly, I generally am just open where our creativity leads us, whatever that may be.

Man, the flesh sucks. I'm gonna abandon it for the machine.
Hey was anyone gonna telle that the machine is also subject to change? The nature of my decay is just different now. Shit sucks. I'm gonna abandon the machine for the divine.

Do you have a favorite GVH character?
Reed is my boy. I took on writing his 1:1 scene toward the finale of the game because I felt I related most to his reaction to the end.
Congratulations for the honorable mentions!!!
Thank you so much! The reception to Goodbye Volcano High has meant so much to me and the team. I never thought we’d be recognized in this way. We really appreciate all your support!!!
Idle reminder that cyberstalking is bad and that if you're following someone across social media for weeks or months to gather "evidence" to prove that they're bad, then you should probably consider whether you're actually the good guy in that situation.
Go do literally anything else. Dig a garden bed. Learn how to embroider. Play a video game. Just stop fucking stalking people online to buff up your callout post so that you feel better about trying to dox someone over fandom drama.
And just for the record, you can't "but—" or "what if—" your way out of the very reasonable statement of "stalking people is bad."
Like there aren't exceptions to this. Don't stalk people. If you try to argue about this, then I'm going to assume that you are a genuinely dangerous person to have around and I will block your ass immediately.
