Olive’s talent and interest in potions comes from her culinary background—her dad is a chef, and she’s always been very passionate about cooking.

Ooh so that must give her a nice head start when it comes to potions! All that measuring and junk must really come naturally to her!

Rosa’s powers as an empath are very, very strong due to a combination of factors - she’s spent a lot of time honing them, for one, but she’s also only a second-generation descendant of Dawn the Camellia, who has much fewer descendants than any other Meadowgod and so their power is less divided. Even then, her empath abilities are magnified by her own personality. All things considered, Rosa has the potential to become one of, if not the most powerful empath alive!

OC fact swap! Before the Accident, Katy used to play the cello. One of the girls who played bass in orchestra asked her to prom and her very christian mother surprised everyone when she was 100% supportive after finding out. Katy's mom insisted on helping Bass Girl pick out a suit to match Katy's ridiculously poofy blue dress. That is one of Katy's best memories.

Beck is autistic. She gets overwhelmed by crowds and loud environments; her special interest is photography (and at the time the novel takes place she is beginning to develop one in fashion as well); she tends to jiggle her leggy when she’s sitting still, as well as fidgeting with small objects, bouncing in place or tapping her hands or feet when she’s excited, tapping her teeth together to the rhythm of music (I do this lmao), and touching her lips or eyelids. (I could go on forever bc I am. Also one whole autism.) She used to work really hard to hide it, but after becoming involved with Alex and Ursula, who are far more accepting and accommodating than her parents ever were, she began to allow herself to be openly autistic again. She also became much more outspoken about it in her writing (she has a very popular Snapstream [my fictional counterpart to Instagram] as well as a blog).

Ursula is passionate about shoes. This usually means she buys and wears a lot of really nice heels and shit, but she’s also a not-so-secret sneakerhead. One of her first purchases after the big checks started coming in from her business was a pair of custom adidas superstars, which she’d always wanted but never felt right buying.
