[Right, so, in my absence I’ve missed ? a lot, it seems. So unless you hmu to tell me otherwise I’m going to give it a couple of days but I’m going to end up clearing my drafts. Let me know if you want me to keep a thread or not, but I’m going to be sticking to mutuals, so otherwise it’s a clean slate. There are a few threads that I want to continue so there’s always that, too.

I headcanon that the Sparda family is Italian so that’s my basis here. Vergil didn’t have much of a formal education after the tragedy of his early childhood but he’s always had his nose buried in some book or another and someone to translate for him. He’s familiar with Italian, English, Latin, and a tiny bit of the dead ancient languages. 

It’s rough because he can’t remember much of his time in Hell, but Vergil understands Enochian and demonic languages, but he has a tough time reading and translating them.

Does anything fluster Vergil? That’s a good question. Embarrassed flustering doesn’t really happen, but he gets angry flustered pretty easy? Huffy and indignant when people annoy or anger him. He’s a pretty suave guy otherwise, and the fluster easily turns to cool disdain.

(´ q ` ” ) = The character’s “guilty” pleasure

Sweet things, like cakes and treats. Good wine. Nice things, in general. He’s pretty much your every day wine mom. Chocolate. Good chocolate though. And flowers, but not the romantic gesture kind. The aesthetically pleasing garden kind.

Vergil doesn’t really care much for money because he’s always pretty much had it. Mercenary work when he was younger was lucrative, he’s probably sitting on one hell of an inheritance (no pun intended), and in my post-Hell verses he’s back into mercenary and demon hunting, and he doesn’t pull his punches. He’s had investments and storage and money just hasn’t been a super huge concern to him.

Which is partially why he’s such a fucking lush. He’s no spendthrift but when he does buy, it’s on good quality things that are going to last him.

Lady’s bi-chromatic eyes shifted over to Vergil when she heard him speak. She seemed a little surprised at him, not having expected to run into him. “Don’t flatter yourself, I’m not here for you” she responded, turning to face him. “And what has you hanging about here?” she questioned, eyeing him curiously.

“And don’t flatter yourself into thinking that I assumed you were,” Vergil shot back, raising a snowy eyebrow at her. “This is where I relax,” he remarked, gesturing to the relative seclusion of his selected seat. “And I happen to be waiting on a man to come and pay respect to a mutual friend.” Who happened to be a demon. That he killed. For three grand. “What about you? What are you here for, Lady?”

It was his favored secluded corner of his regular - classier - night club haunt, one where no one would notice if someone happened to be hiring a mercenary, or a devil hunter. “To what do I owe the pleasure, Lady?”
