When Seth challenged Roman for the WHC he told Roman he was always the chosen one. So the reason why he betrayed Roman by breaking up The Shield was jealousy. (Dean was a casualty because he was closer to Roman.) He's always been obsessed with Roman. Just like Roman said they gave Seth Roman's storyline. They gave him a bootleg Bloodline, The Vision. It was a flop. They gave him Paul Heyman (he went from the Wise Man to the Oracle). It was a huge downgrade.

Every time Seth is champion all he does is talk about Roman and try to prove he's better than Roman. He breaks his body down doing it. He said he's glad he's not like Roman but his actions show he's trying his best to be like Roman. Like a little brother he's always trying to out do his big brother.

Roman has beaten Seth a number of times but he hasn't beat him in the big matches. Roman has something to prove too. He has accomplished so much in WWE. He has surpassed Seth in many ways but he still wants to beat him on his own to prove once and for all who is the best.

This is top tier storytelling from two of the greatest.

After all these years, he still needs a Money in the Bank briefcase to become champion. And if you thought that was bad enough, he had to fake an injury in order to use the damn thing. Let's just be honest here. If ever there was a time for this guy to be number one, I mean, come on. Your work daddy, Triple H, is damn near running this joint. They tried, boy. Oh, did they try. I mean, they pretty much gave you all my stuff. And you still couldn't walk in my shoes, Number Two.
