Some of you may remember, Last year in the fall I created a digital exhibition called Reclaiming the Space, which featured women artists.
I will be creating a digital exhibition. The theme of this year’s digital exhibition is Feminists against Hate. You can interpret this topic however you like, create something about any political issue you want to explore. Examples include, Women’s health and reproductive rights, environmental protection, black lives matter, immigration rights, or inclusive feminism and equality. I love looking at all the posters from the marches, they are so inspiring. However, I don’t want the majority of this exhibition to be comprised of protest posters.
With your submission you will submit a 100-300 word statement about the issue you’ve chosen and why it’s important to you.
I would prefer to have the majority of voices be from women identifying, and non binary artists, however I will not exclude men from the exhibition. I just want voices of the underrepresented to be heard.
I may not use everyone’s art who submits it for the exhibition. It must meet the guidelines listed below.
Submit a high quality digital scan/photograph of your art piece.
There must be a political theme.
You’re piece doesn’t have to be exclusive to this exhibition, you can use something you’ve been working on for a class or project.
You must include your name, the artwork’s title, and the year it was created.
Also include a 100-300 word statement about your artwork.
On the exhibition page there will be a place to donate to the ACLU.
