Silly idea that just occurred to me and might, or might not make a fanfic.

AU where Jax talks to Kinger.

As we know from canon, Jax doesn't really have a high opinion on Kinger, thinking of him as "the crazy one", and not even having a door of "What if Kinger Abstracted".

So in this, Jax deduces that talking with Kinger is harmless, as the dude barely knows whats going on around him, so there's no chance Kinger would judge him no matter what he says, AND he will also not spill the beans to the others.

Jax, however, doesn't know that Kinger is more lucid in the darkness, so he waits until night time to talk to him inside his Pillow Fort.

Kinger is a bit confused at first, but glad that Jax is opening up, and he's the dad friend, so he just listens to what he has to say.

Jax is comfortable takking to him and it becomes a routine.

One time, after telling Kinger something particularly personal, Jax says "I wish you were my dad". Without missing a beat, Kinger answers "I would be proud if you were my child"

sorry if this has been asked before but what do you use to sculpt doll parts? and also what kind of paint do you use that sticks on the plastic? I’ve tried sanding down the parts first but found it chips off

If I'm sculpting directly onto a doll, I use milliput, but any 2 part epoxy putty will work. It hardens on it's own and won't affect the plastic.

If it's a part you're not sculpting over the top of an existing piece, you should be fine to use a polymer clay like sculpey. You just don't want to bake plastic, it will melt and release fumes.

As for paint, I just use acrylics. (Never use markers, nail polish, or oil paint, they WILL damage the plastic.)

Are you using any kind of sealant over the paint? If you don't seal it, the paint won't hold as well. I recommend Mr Super Clear Matte, but Testor's Matte clear coat and Liquitex Matte brush on sealant are all doll safe. Never use a sealant that is not listed as plastic and vinyl safe, it will react and be sticky forever.

That said, some degree of chipping is inevitable, especially around the joints. Even the best paint job can get damaged, even factory paint can chip.

Don't get too discouraged if it's not always perfect, it's just a part of the medium. Sometimes we have to accept our sculptures will have fingerprints, our paintings will have brushstrokes, and our dolls will have a few chips at the elbows lol.

Caine looks devastated, and from Gangle’s response, says something like “Can I reroll?!”

One fun thing about learning new languages is reconsidering the structure of words and language in your mother tongue. It seems with each new language I study, I get more little insights into English, either in how it's similar or how it's different.

For example, a couple years ago, while learning Spanish, I encountered the word for a store, "la tienda." I thought "huh, that's a lot like tener (tiene) - the word for store in Spanish literally corresponds to 'to have/keep'. How interesting!"

Then I stopped for a moment, and for the first time in my life, thought about seriously about the meaning of English word for the place where you buy things, "a store."

Pomni Labubus: A Mini Review

Retail Price: $20usd

So I ordered these Pomni Animiniz Pendantz waaayyyyy back in December after Episode 7 came out, and may I first off say I'm very annoyed that us who had pre-ordered them months ago had to wait and wait for them to arrive, while they somehow had enough made for the TADC pop up store in NYC recently.

That irritates me.

Back to the dolls.

There are 9 different options you can get in this set. No, that's not a typo. There are THREE super rares in this set, two that were a complete secret until a few lucky people found them. Iconic, Anime, Beach, Noir, Possessed, Evil (rare), Unicorn (super rare), and Jax Suit (super rare), Golden (extra super rare).

I only know about those last two because I was looking up a pic of Unicorn Pomni and stumbled on people talking about them.

Anyhow, I got Iconic and Anime Pomni! They are both incredibly cute.

Unicorn was probably my favorite (based on a wacky pre-production comic), but I knew getting a super rare was highly unlikely. Iconic was my second fav, and I'm happy she was one I did get.

They have soft vinyl faces, hard plastic eyes, and the rest of them is fabric.

Size wise, they're a lot smaller than a Labubu, mostly because of the body. The heads are roughly the same size, but Pomni's body is teeny-tiny. To be fair, this probably makes her more fuctional as a charm, on the other, she's definitely less like a doll than Labubu is.

Quality-wise, they're...fine.

Say what you want about Labubus, but the quality of the legit ones are near-immaculate. Granted, they're more expensive, but even so, both my Pomnis have obvious issues right out of the box.

Iconic's head was deformed out of the box, and when I tired to fix it, her eye popped out. It turns out they're only held in with double sided tape. I would have taken a photo of this, but when I attempted to replace her eye it scratched the paint around her eye and made a small cut into the plastic...somehow??

Couldn't get my camera to focus on it, but it's visible in person.

So I didn't want to push my luck by popping it out again for a photo.

Also little things, like these details not being sewn on all the way, make it feel like she'd be easy to damage. I could see these loops getting caught on something while hanging from a bag and ripping off.

Speaking of rips, Anime's skirt came out of the box like this. And her skirt is also not sewn all the way on anyhow.

It's a shame because I really wanted to like them more than I do.

Especially after waiting for so long. Not that I don't like them exactly, they're so very cute, but these will be the only ones I buy.

That's probably for the best.

Very late to the party, but IIRC, the Jax suit one is exclusive to physical stores, and there are only 100 of the golden one in existence.
