yeah yeah rainbow capitalism is bad and whatever but like. when I was a child, being pro gay was not the popular or lucrative choice. I'm happy that times have changed.
I miss rainbow capitalism. I do. I miss when it felt like public opinion was still pro gay. I understand it was always an empty gesture, but it mattered in a sense of knowing how socially acceptable being queer is. If that makes sense.
It was always a thermometer, not a thermostat, and I’m begging people to understand that.
A lot of us are old enough to remember when a company risked mass boycotts and organized campaigns for daring to sponsor a Pride or LGBT+ event. A lot of us are old enough to remember when you could not find Pride flags or other rainbow items for sale in mainstream stores anywhere. What changed was that companies felt the LGBT+ community was worth selling to, worth publicly standing behind and worth acknowledging. And now that's changed again for many companies, which is a canary in the coal mine that should concern all of us.
Anybody else have no idea how their personality is perceived by others? Like am I nice? Am I mean? I have no idea.
When people tell me stuff about me I literally think about it nonstop for 3-5 business days.
A coworker casually said “everyone else likes you” (because one coworker was mad at me) and I was for real like ????everyone likes me??????

Casting Call
Valdivian’s [REDACTED] is a science-fiction scripted anthology fiction podcast set in The Afforest, a diverse galaxy from a distant future infested by the techno-feudalist entity known as Valdivian. Each episode subscribes to a different sub-genre and tackles a range of thought-provoking topics. While some episodes are humorous, there is a consistent theme of darkness and dystopia reflecting modern problems through the lens of speculative fiction.
We are currently casting for the episode "Overtime" which follows Regi and Ronnie who quite literally work while they sleep, paying off debts via renting out their subconscious.
Please see the linked Google doc below for more information.

Imagine being the gays at a pride event in 2004 living their lives when someone grabs the microphone and announces to the room that Ronald Reagan was pronounced dead. Can you even imagine the hype, the celebration, the pure elation
This is the Pride Month that It will happen. I feel it in my gay bones

A demon has cursed you with the inability to have children or form a family, and as soon as you learn of this you went to tell the witch who you promised your firstborn child, as this clearly will prevent you from fulfilling your side of the deal.
The witch just nods and calls her lawyer Fae. Even demons need to learn to not infringe on deals.
Lawer fae: "After reviewing all of the documentation, I'm happy to inform you that there is a very simple solution!" 😀
Witch: And that is?
Lawer fae: While we can't remove the curse ourselves, your deal predates it by a significant margin. And since the curse interferes with the deal maker's ability to fulfill their end of the agreement through no fault of their own, you would be well within your rights to demand that the Demon either remove the curse or pay the price instead!
Coming up next on "UNSEELIE COURT"...
I think we need a show like this. Either serious court drama or Ace Attorney shenanigans showcasing civil cases involving magical or supernatural beings and the deals or curses they make.

hello everyone! i'm a queer black woman living in the west coast, and i have been struggling with my housing for quite a bit of time. where i live, the heat can get especially intense, and with me and my family mostly living out of our car, trying to sleep during these hot nights proves to be a huge problem when the heat can reach the 100's. we're lucky to get any sleep at all sometimes what i'm asking for is a bit of cash so that me and my family can sometimes afford to spend the night in air-conditioned hotels, even if it's just for the coming days hotels in my town tend to cost anywhere between $150-$200 per night, and any extra funds can go towards us affording food, clothes, and other necessities i'm only asking people who can help out, i know a lot of people are struggling, but if you see this post, please spread it around. surviving the summer in my position is nothing short of absolute hell and if you can help me make a difference, i'd appreciate it. thanks for reading
TL;DR: it's approaching the summertime (it may as well be summer at this point) and getting sleep when you don't have a home is hard enough. i'd love some help so i can afford to sleep indoors instead of my hot car

awww the like button turns into a rainbow when you press it! that's so cute...hey staff what's with all the trans women you keep nuking?
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
The Bad Guys: "Marginalization and negative stereotypes of people often forces them into harmful, dangerous ways of life, which is reinforced by police brutality and oppression, and the rich and powerful pay shallow lip service to the idea of reformation for their own personal gain."
The Bad Guys 2: "People who have criminal pasts face workplace discrimination that prevents them from living honest lives, which forces them back into the very same crimes that they wanted to move on from and reinforces biases against them."
Hey uh I wonder if there's a pattern to these films' messages or something.
Happy pride month specifically to folks on the asexual and aromantic spectrum who oftentimes feel isolated and left out of the conversation. You belong here as much as the rest of us and I hope that you are all loved in a way that is comforting to you.
