aurumseward:
“Oh. Hi, Spark.”
Spark smiled a little when she saw Aurum and waved her a small hello.
tributelaika:
I don’t know. I wasn’t allowed out much. She signed back. She remembered this woman. Spark Piper. A victor from her district.
Spark didn’t want to pry on the girls personal life too much, but the words stuck out at her. Allowed out?
My true song for Spark. I keep coming back to it.Â
isabellexgrey:
She’d been searching everywhere for the familiar face of her old mentor, searching amongst them without giving away who it was she was looking for. She breathed a sigh of relief as Spark entered the room behind her, “Spark…” she breath quietly, a smile curving her lips. “Is it bad I’m glad to see you?” she winced, “I’m mean see you in general, not see you –” she trailed off as she realised that wasn’t much better, see you like this had been where she was leading.Â
Spark shook her head, she knew what Isabelle meant. She was glad to see isabelle again as well, even though the circumstances happened to be less than prefect. Spark took a quick glance to see if anyone else was around and than slipped her touch pad out of its hiding place and started to type. Â I know what you mean. Im glad to see you too Isabelle. I missed you.Â
tributelaika:
Three.
Spark was happily surprised. How is everyone doing there? Its been such a long time since-Â She paused for a moment, her eyes cold and calculating, Since I left.Â
tributelaika:
I am sorry. She signed back. If there was anything worse than what had happened to her, it was that.
Spark wasn’t really sure what to say. She wanted to say it was fine, but that was a lie. You get used to it. Spark sighed and tried to change the topic. She didn’t really want any more pity parties. What district are you?
tributelaika:
Yes. It had been the only way she’d been able to talk without her benefactor listening. Are you deaf?
Spark shook her head. Avox. Mute. She was happily shocked that the girl actually did know sign. Maybe it wasn’t as rare as she thought.
avoxphoenix:
Being who we are, we must always think of the games. Even if we won’t admit it. She pointed out somberly.Â
I guess your right. Spark shook her head a bit. But in all the time I’ve known you you’ve never been wrong. So its not too surprising. She joked lightly, trying to change the conversation. She really didn’t like thinking about the games at all. It brought back a lot of unwanted memories sometimes.Â
avoxphoenix:
I have… some of them are very young. Phoenix pointed out.
Its better not to think about it that way. Spark let out a small sigh. Its better not to think about the games at all really, but I guess we can’t avoid it.Â
deweydillenium:
She hadn’t been staring. Okay, maybe she had. But really, who could blame here? There were so many new people, so many things to look at. Hiding behind a chair in the corner, Dewey could see it all, and nobody would notice her unless they were actually paying attention. She liked it that way.
Spark had been standing silent to the side of the room, waiting for someone to give her an order. She was surprised to see a little girl behind one of the chairs. She felt a pang of remorse when she first laid eyes on the child. The girl reminded her so much of her own daughter, it was almost devastating. No one really paid much attention to the avoxes ever, so she never had to hide to ease drop or see everyone. Nobody really noticed when she slipped over to where the girl was hiding and crouched down beside her typing in something on her touch pad and sliding it over to her. Why are you hiding?Â
tributelaika:
Laika smiled back. The other woman was silent. It was odd, people usually thanked other people for this kind of thing, but the silence was appreciated.Â
Can you sign? Â Spark signed to the girl, giving it a shot atleast. She found the strangest people had picked up the skill. She might as well try.
avoxphoenix:
Sorry. Did I scare you? Phoenix signed with a smile.
I just wasn’t expecting to find you here. Spark smiled a little back at her. Have you seen all the new kids they have this year?
Spark walked into the room, a little surprised to see someone standing in front of her.
tributelaika:
Laika stepped into the elevator, looking at the array of glowing buttons. As she saw another person coming her way, she held her hand on the door, waiting for them to get on. “Didn’t want you to have to wait for the next one.”
Spark smiled. The was sweet of her. She would have said thank you if she could. Spark couldn’t say she recognized the girl, but she knew the next set of tributes had just arrived. She wondered if these children even knew what an avox was?
martin-medlen:
He grinned widely, reaching for the phone to call the tower managers, “Oh we’re watching real housewives of the Capitol. It’s amazingly hilarious because all of them just get into fights all day and do no work. Ooh! Or we could watch fashion fighters. It’s these people who are trying to get into the hunger games stylist spots and they have this competition where- Oh, Hello, yes I would like to request an avox for assistance. Yes. Yes one was changing the sheets I will just use this one.” He hung up the phone feeling dirty about talking about someone that way, but it was the only way they would believe him.
Both of those sound better than what I would be doing, whatever you prefer. Spark remembered when she used to watch t.v on her days off. She liked to watch the news while she tinkered with the parts of her next project normally, but she honestly doubted martin wanted to watch the news.Â
vidiaheller:
“It really does,” she sighed before she sipped her wine.  “We’ve all been through that hell but we’re all so wrapped up in ourselves that it makes everything really difficult.”
Spark nodded, even she was only ever focused on her own life when she had mentored. Its hard to talk to others when everything is hard like this. Spark took another sip of her wine and held onto Vidias hand with gentle fingers. You’ll be okay though. Spark wasn’t being completely honest, she didn’t know if Vidia would be fine or not. Spark was a good example of exactly how things could go wrong.Â
