i reinstalled packaged DI, the PROPER way. apparently there was a .txt i didn't see until now and it's working better than before but now all the DI parts are textureless, oh well, it might even be BETTER that they're textureless as i've heard

EXCITING NEWS!!! the error 2 happened because i set a custom path for spore, and surprisingly enough, my copy's updated, so all i have to do is set spore to the path modapi wants and then i'll be CRINGE BUT FREE

(so yes, i did in fact pirate spore and you can lock me in prison or whatever for my horrible goblin crimes, but like this game is OLD and everyone and their mother knows EA is gonna do jack schmite with spore, so like, cut me slack alright?)

so my original GOG version of spore works a little funny, and i may have figured out why. it works right until i install this .package dark injections that i found on an old crusty google drive because i didn't think using regular DI would work. it won't let me update to regular DI and i think it's because .package DI is for a pre-asymmetry spore copy, but i don't have that, so it,, like,, temporarily uninstalls the update? or makes the regular DI installer not detect the update. https://steamcommunity.com/app/17390/discussions/0/1642043732653204841/ with this steam post, it says the reason it wasn't letting spore update with the patch (which is what i've tried to do) is because it already was up to date, it even gave the same specific error that it doesn't detect a copy. but that's just a theory, a GAAAAME THEORY, THANKS FOR WATCHING
