Regardless of what the writers have decided for Zelena's origins, I think your theory ties in with present canon very nicely. I'd honestly not considered that Zelena's mother might be someone other than Cora, so now I'm intrigued to see what actually happens since I think you have some very valid points.

Oh wow...Cora and her lesbian phase just made me howl with laughter. I positively love stories with loving/amusing Cora, and adding that to already perfect near-oblivious Swan Queen goodness plus adorable Henry and mischievous Kathryn is just too much awesomeness. As epic and amazing as your other stories have always been, this particular one is just keeping a permanent smile on my face! :)

I just realized! Regina reset things, right? Emma and Henry escaped but Storybrooke never happened. So...Rumple should still be alive. Graham should still be alive. And best of all... CORA NEVER FREAKING DIED! If they show Rumple being back I will legit be screaming for joy because you KNOW Cora will be back. I so want to see Cora with a heart and Emma interact. I have so many "Adventures with Cora Mills" feels right now...

OUAT 3x11

As angry as I am that Regina has to give up Henry, it's still good in a way. She gave him and Emma the memories of a good life together and saved everyone in Storybrooke from the curse. She still has some work to do, but honestly, after this, her redemption is pretty much par for the course. If her new LI is walking around with Charming and Hook in SB then clearly she's made amends with the Charmings, if nothing else. And as they all end up back in SB, she WILL get her son back eventually. She still very much has the possibility of a happy ending, and as Snow White says, that's such a powerful thing. Also...WICKED WITCH! I cannot WAIT to see her interactions with Regina. Two BAMFs with magic going head to head? It's going to be fabulous. :) And I am very curious to see how her interactions with Emma will be now that she has the memories of this amazing life with Henry thanks to her. I'm thinking either they will likely end up friends (as kind of depicted in the BTS set photos) or even bigger rivals since Emma has the memories of raising Henry, thus making her more defensive of her position as his mother. I don't think the writers will go in that direction with all the craziness that's happening, but one can never tell with this show. Ah well, major kudos to Adam and Eddy on this episode. Regina's gift opened up the show to the possibility of Swan Queen in future seasons in a big way and I have to say I'm thankful for that. I've also never cried so hard over this show as I did when we see Regina in the purple smoke looking at the bug disappearing. All the awards to Lana and Bobby for this ep. In my book, Rumple and Regina are redeemed. The end.

I don’t think Emma made the wrong choice, but she DID give up Henry. She decided not to be his mother. He is Regina’s son now. Regina would never give him up.

But Emma DID do the right thing, considering she was in prison at the time of his birth. She couldn’t have provided for him from the moment she got out, she’d have to find a job that paid a decent enough wage, a place to live etc

Regina is definitely his mother, but I think with time and with Regina’s permission, Emma could be just as much of one too.

I really don’t think anyone thinks Emma did do the wrong thing when she have Henry up. Given her situation, it was selfless and probably her best option, as well as Henry’s.

However, Emma did do the wrong thing when she decided to start treating Regina like a glorified babysitter in season 2 and illegally claimed rights to Henry as her son. It’s absolutely understandable for Emma to despise and seek justice against Regina for her actions, but that does not include discounting Regina as Henry’s mother. If Emma would like to see her tried as unfit, that’s fine, but if she wants Henry she herself would have to prove herself fit to a court and a track record that includes letting Henry wander off with dynamite pretty much ensures that without Regina, Henry would be going straight into the system.

I do think, though, that Regina will be fine with Emma being in Henry’s life now. They’ve both openly claimed him as “their” son, so hopefully this argument will be laid to rest shortly enough.

I agree. Emma is his family, yes, but Regina is his mother. She's the only family member he has that has always fought for him from day one. As evidenced by her actions in Save Henry. She was obviously far from the best mother at times, but even knowing that keeping Henry would lead to her downfall, she still did because she loved him. Rumple let his son go, Snow sent her daughter away, and Emma gave up Henry. Regina is the only one in this screwed up family that put her child first. Panicking when Emma came to town and trying to get rid of her does NOT erase the fact that she loved and raised Henry right before then. I'd really like to see how Henry was with Regina before the Book, because I think it's pretty clear that they're portraying Regina as a good mother to Henry if nothing else.

Also, without Regina, Pan would have had Henry's heart long before Emma decided to just illegally claim rights to Regina's son. Without Regina raising Henry, there would be no Henry at all, no Emma the Savior, and no curse broken in Storybrooke. In the grand scheme of things, Regina HAD to be Henry's mother for everything to work out as it did.

At the end of the day, though, Adam and Eddy have clearly stated that BOTH Regina and Emma are Henry's mothers and that is how it will continue to be. That means that Emma's abandonment of Henry will be overlooked as will Regina's scheming. You can't defend one mother's right to him without acknowledging that they BOTH massively screwed up when it comes to him.
