Back on my SassCaptains bullshit as if it hasn't been thirteen years
Popty Ping is not Welsh for Microwave.
Pre-menstrual depression is always depicted as like "He He! I had a box of icecream bars and cried while watching the Titanic!" But in reality, it's more like, "I'm standing the edge of an abyss. There is nothing good inside of me, I'm filled with rage and desperation."
It's crazy that being told how to deal with that is never a part of anyone's menstrual sex education.
This has already been said in the notes, but if PMS causes extreme depression and even suicidal ideation, that is in fact something that most people do not experience and it can be treated
Like for the majority it really is "oh i'm hungrier and moodier than usual"
^this should be a part of sex education so the point still stands
I went to my doctor after I was walking to work one morning and saw a bus coming and actually took a step to throw myself in front of it before I pulled myself together. Later that day I started bleeding and was literally like someone flipped a switch and I didn't feel suicidal anymore. Which made me feel like I was loosing my mind because who goes from 'I want to throw myself in front of a bus' to 'I'm perfectly fine' just like that? I did some research, I went to the doctor and described my feelings, he looked me in the eye and gently asked what I thought it was, I said I'd read about PMDD and I thought it might be that, he said 'I think so too' and wrote a prescription.
If, before you get your period, you feel furiously angry, suicidal, irritated by every tiny thing to the point you want to murder someone, stuck in a black hole you'll never escape from. If you are experiencing extreme emotions for what seems like no good reason, especially if you get your period and those extreme emotions just go away. You're probably not just PMSing , you may have PMS's feral big sister PMDD and it's treatable.
Also this is something that can develop as you get older. So if you used to get normal PMS but what I wrote above sounds more like your norm now then don't just write it off as regular PMS.
I also just want to add that as you get older, into your 30s and 40s, you can DEVELOP PMDD when you've never had it before. About 3 years ago my mood in the week before my period I started began dropping. In the last year I have been suicidal for 2/3 days a month, It has been horrendous and I went to my therapist and my GP who were both comfortable with the preliminary diagnosis. It also explained my extreme hospital anxiety that moving to home treatment for my MS has assisted with.
But yeah, if your periods and PMS suddenly start getting worse when you're over 35... you're not imagining it, speak to your doctor and see if you can get help.
Wikipedia describes the game tag as follows: "Tag is a playground game involving one or more players chasing other players in an attempt to "tag" and mark them out of play, typically by touching with a hand. ... The last one tagged during tag is "It" for the next round."
However, when I was growing up, whenever the player who was "It" tagged another player, the tagger would stop being It and the player who was tagged would become It instead. The game continued indefinitely, with all players engaged the whole time, and there was no "out."
The article also describes a variant sometimes known as "zombie tag," where anyone who gets tagged becomes It in addition to the other player(s) who were already It. In this way, "being It" would spread until everyone had been tagged.
When you were a kid, which of these variants did the game Tag refer to? (Or the equivalent name if you used another regional variant like "tig" or "chase.") This is not referring to other variants such as freeze tag, unless that's what you and your playmates called Tag.
If you get tagged, you're out
If you get tagged, you become It
Everyone who gets tagged becomes It for the rest of the game (zombie tag)
Our version of Tag worked differently than any of these
We did not play Tag when I was a child

I'm British so we called it tig because we have to be special, but it was very much that if you were tigged you were now it. It got chaotic when you had your entire class of 25 kids playing.
I have received all manner of threat, up to and beyond “I will play a flute carved from your femur,” and yet this is the first time I’ve felt truly threatened

And then many, MANY, people wondering if this was actually authour mistake, since Peter really would do this!
POMEGRANATES:
zhajhassa: #haha where's that post that was like someone describing someone eating a pomegranate but they ate it like an apple

the-celery-stalks-at-midnight: #i will never ever forget someone putting leftover fries in the microwave to reheat them and setting the timer for five minutes
typeghost: #this sparked a memory of a hannibal fic where the author had to fake their way through writing about gravy
draculin: #the one fanfic where the author knows about coffee only as a concept wrote a character as a coffee drinker#was very interesting#I don't remember the fandom or the plot but I was mesmerized by the coffee actions and choices
11235811235811: #there's a lot of faking their way thru congee in the svsss fandom i'll also note

emmy-everafter: #in the aftermath of shadow and bone s2 i saw a lot of people pretending to know what stroopwafels are #babes they are more like cookies than breakfast waffles #like yes there is a waffle pattern but you're not gonna cut into a stack of them with syrup and sugar#🤣🤣🤣

"why can't they just be friends?" not in the homophobic sense, but in the "in your need to center romance in everything you are missing the whole point of the media in question" sense
pick whatever option the person you're following who reblogged this post didn't pick. if they didn't say in the tags what they picked or if you're seeing the original post and not a reblog, pick at random instead.
there are some posts on this website talking about Star Trek where I read them and I'm like... tell me you never watched Enterprise without telling me you never watched Enterprise and you're talking about it only based on second hand information.
I just want to beg of you all... Give Enterprise a go. Do it. It's good. It's honestly aged better than other series. It's a fun watch and there are some really great episodes.
Yeah, there is some shite too. But that is true of all the series.
I beg, beg, beg of you to ACTUALLY watch Enterprise and then make a decision on it. Please stop assuming it's terrible because 00s nerds hated it.
Something Unpredictable has consumed my entire fucking life recently it might be one of my favourite fics I've ever written and if you like Enterprise and Jon/Erika stuff I think you're missing out and should give this mess a read.
To try and keep myself focused I now have a laptop that I literally only use to write. It has a browser, Scrivener and On Together installed on it, and that's where I'll be when I'm writing. If you're ever in On Together and want to hang, hit me up and I'll tell you which server I'm in and where I'm at.
