Madeon ft. Passion Pit "Pay No Mind"
I kind of don't have anything much to say other than listen to this song off of Madeon's upcoming debut release, I hope you love it as much as I do. Oh, and YAY Passion Pit and YAY Madeon!!! 2015 is going to be a good 'ole year for music =)
Mary J. Blige & Disclosure "Follow"
Follow is the third collabo between two of my fave artists of all-time, queen Mary J Blige and the adorable beat-making Howard brothers (aka Disclosure). This track follows in the vein of their previous projects, Disclosure's F For You remix and Mary's first "London Sessions" single Right Now. Mary's silky smooth voice over Disclosure's bass-heavy groove-worthy tracks is sure to move anyone with a pulse. It's smooth with a nice build and I can't wait to see what else follows from this perfectly matched pair.

Disclosure ft. Sam Smith "Need U 100%" (Duke Dumont Cover)
My BFF Baby Kekz sent me a link to a YouTube video several days ago, with the subject line "Sam Smith" and the caption "Pretty Bomb." I was busy at the time and forgot about it. Well, I finally checked it out and it wasn't just another Sam Smith vid. It's a video of Disclosure featuring Sam Smith doing a cover of Duke Dumont's smash hit Need U 100%. I mean, do I even need to write anything else? Other than that I sincerely regret not opening the link when he originally sent it to me 5 days ago? Enjoy.
Big Boi "Kryptonite (Dr. Fresch x Tendra Remix)"
I've been listening to this remix of Big Boi's "Kryptonite" on repeat for the last 20 minutes because it is just that huge. The bass lines are deep. The synth is tight. And come on, it's Big Boi. I'm new to the Dr. Fresch & Tendra sounds, but if everything they put up is this solid, consider me a fan.

Banks "Beggin for Thread (Gryffin & Hotel Garuda Remix)"
Banks is one of those artists who just seems to keep riding on successful single after successful single, which I'm totally okay with. But lately, she's been getting some great remix love, and earlier this week Gryffin & Hotel Garuda dropped a sweet little house remix of Beggin for Thread that is just begging to be played, over and over again. The Knocks "Classic (RAC Remix)"
Why does everything RAC touches turn to gold?? Not that The Knocks' Classic wasn't a perfectly delectable summer jam in its own right, but the RAC remix is such a smooth new take on, well, a classic. This remix isn't exactly new - it dropped on Soundcloud a couple months ago - but it was just released on Spotify today, so ... enjoy =)
Marian Hill "Got It"
I'm sorry I've been slacking on this blog. But it's only because I recently started a brand new travel blog, which has kind of been all-consuming! (Check it out when you get a chance: http://sparkztravels.com) Anyway, I really haven't loved a song this hard in a long time, so I was inspired to start up this blog again. I plan to start posting regularly again, so check back often. And in the meantime, check out this banger track, "Got It," by Marian Hill, an electronic soul duo out of Philly! I got this on repeat.
Lilly Wood & The Prick and Robin Schulz "Prayer in C (the remixes)"
Okay so I just discovered this song, and although I don't particularly care for the original, there are a few stellar remixes floating around. Oddly enough, two of them are Schulz remixes, an Alex Schulz bootleg and the Robin Schulz Radio Edit, the latter of which is my fave version. I'll post them both below, but I have to say ... this song is the shizz. Highly groovable, gritty voice, and just that perfect summer vibe. Enjoy!

Pharell ft. Daft Punk "Gust of Wind (Autograf Remix)"
Okay I haven't been blogging for a really long time, mainly because I couldn't get any photos to post to Tumblr. And then when I recently discovered the photo function was back, I realized that the hyperlink function is broken too =/
In any event, I'm gonna make it work. So I'm back with today's song of the day ... A very grizmatik / pretty lights / paper diamond / big gigantic -friendly version of Pharrell & Daft Punk's "Gust of Wind" remix by Autograf. (Whew, that was a mouthful). The song's got a very nice build leading into the perfectly synthesized chorus. It's probably the most fitting song for a Thursday leading into what will surely be a fantastic Friday.

Plastic Plates dropped a hot hot hot song with one of my all-time faves, Sam Sparro, and it is the only Valentines Day song you will ever need. Let's "Stay in Love" people.
Big Gigantic ft. Cherub "The Night is Young"
A Big Gigantic and Cherub collabo?!?!? Are you freaking kidding me???? I'm sorry I haven't been blogging. It's not for lack of songs ... something's up with my Tumblr template, it won't let me post photos. I still haven't been able to fix it, but this track is just too large for me not to post. I'm a HUGE fan of both Big G and Cherub, so I was super stoked to wake up and find this track in my stream. "The Night is Young" is exactly what you'd think a song would sound like if these two standout artists got together for a collabo. Funky. Danceable. And hella sexy. Get after it.
Cillie Barnes "Veranda"
Whenever RAC drops a new remix, as was the case yesterday, I know without a doubt that I'm going to instantly love it. Yesterday's remix, however, transcends love. I'm obsessed with Cillie Barnes and her folksy raspy lovely little voice. And in particular, I can't get enough of the unapologetically honest "Veranda," about a girl's crush on her boyfriend's best friend. Whether it's the original or RAC's slightly less haunting rework, I can't get the song off repeat. Cillie's EP, Happy Valley, is out on Spotify, and I've already got it on heavy rotation. Much mahalo to RAC for the remix, and more importantly, for turning me onto Cillie. She's already an early contender for my artist of the year.
Duke Dumont ft. Jax Jones "I got U"
It's not summer yet, but if it was, this would be my Summer Jam. Duke Dumont's "I got U" is coming off the heels of his smash hit, "Need U (100 %)," and it's quite the follow up. I'm a huge Dumont fan, but have never heard of Jax Jones before. Her jazzy vocals touch this song up just the right amount, and you know what? I'm just gonna go ahead and declare it my winter jam. So there.
John West "Don't Wake Me Up"
John West is back!!! John West is backkkkkkk!!! He's even got a new Soundcloud page, running under the moniker Public School (LA). His first new song is an acoustic ditty called "Don't Wake Me Up." If you don't know John, I first fell in love with his music on TheSixtyOne.com back in my law school days. His soulful voice with a southern twang got me through more than a few finals. Then he was picked up, and subsequently dropped, by a music label. He's since been doing some soul searching, and it looks like he's back in the groove. I, for one, couldn't be happier. Sub Focus "Turn Back Time"
Clocking in at 3 minutes exactly, this is a short, but intense ride from one of my favorite producers. Sub Focus is king of the build-and-drop, and he does not dissapoint here. What I love about this song, aptly titled "Turn Back Time," is that it's so deliciously distracting that you've really gotta, well, focus to figure out that what you're listening to is a romantic love song about despair. In the last 20 seconds, he hints, "I just hate being without you." Sort of like how I've felt all these years while waiting for a new Sub Focus album ;)
Troy Kurtz Mix "Best of 2013"
Okay I'm not gonna lie - I haven't made it past the 7 minute mark. But Troy Kurtz opened this 'Best Of' mix with Duke Dumont, Disclosure, and Aluna George. So do I really need the remaining 54 minutes to know that it's going to be good? Prob not. Speaking of 2013 Bests, Disclosure was definitely my top act that I had the pleasure of seeing this past year. Close seconds were Kendrick Lamar, The Knocks, Macklemore (3 times!!), Pretty Lights, Empire of the Sun, and the great Ellie Goulding. That being said, I am headed to Vegas to ring in the New Year with Maroon 5, so I'm not closing that door just yet. Here's to more good music in 2014 and beyond! Happy New Year's everyone! Aloha =)
