I’m sorry but just because you have a baby should not mean you get special treatment. You can wait like everyone else. Leave the baby with someone you trust. Everyone has someone to see or some place to go. I have a puppy at home does that mean I get to yell at you to move things along quicker???
Am I too sensitive or is this real?
I am so tired of everyone in my department getting treated differently from each other. This past year I got on my managers bad side because I had to call out due to sickness, and anxiety attacks. Now my manager calls me out on every little thing done wrong. Every single time I make a mistake I get an email talking down to me for my mistake. Or a phone call saying “Mallory I talked to you about this”
Mind you, the mistakes or wrongdoings I make are made by the other people in the department as well, but they seem to get away with it. And I am always picking up their slack, and my manager has mentioned that I do pick up their slack in my review, but still they never get scolded. It would be nice if she would at least ask if everything is okay because we aren’t doing our job, or if she at least thanked us for our hard work and what we accomplish for her the way she reprimands us.
Well the other day I sat down with HR to see if since we lost someone in our department, if I could switch only days off with that person who left. HR was dead set and super excited to have me switch days off, they just had to talk it over with my manager first. Days later HR makes a video for our open positions, and say the position open in my department would work Saturdays (the day I want to switch to have off yay) and get one day off during the week (my old day off). (Keep in mind that previously people have been able to switch schedules/ days off when someone has left). Fast forward to yesterday and I get an email from HR saying “unfortunately as you and I discussed the role needs to be located at —- and that schedule needs to be set there. (Which with the way we worked it out it would be) I understand your need and we can address it possibly in the future but, with the high volume of calls and all of this transition it’s difficult to make that change now.” Hearing this was super disheartening considering how excited she was to have me switch days off and be at a different location one day a week, considering it would benefit me and the company as a whole, and because she had made the open position video saying they would be working Saturday.
My manager and HR are always super responsive when someone else in the department wants to change their schedule around, and a few weeks back gave someone a SECOND day off a week to be able to bring kids to appointments and what not.
She wanted to say hi to everyone!
