The SPCA Thrift Store locations are privately owned and operated under a licensing agreement that allows the stores to use the SPCA name for a percentage of the gross store revenue. Furthermore, all our profits, after expenses, are donated to the SPCA.

Yes, the landlord is renovating the building which housed our SPCA Thrift Store (Furniture) at 3626 W. Broadway … but all is not lost … we have moved a downsized version of the store to the back of our clothing store a very short distance away at 3606 W. Broadway at Dunbar.

Model 3A Graflex Press Camera, Restored and In-Store!

Great job on restoring the Graflex Camera Chuck! These cameras were made for the Folmer and Schwing division of Eastman Kodak. It is the second version that had the autographic feature added, as you can see by the stylus on top, and sliding door at the back. The version was made from 1911 to 1926, and was the equipment of choice for correspondents during the first world war. Most American & Canadian newspaper photos of that conflict were taken with this camera. 

"A proper restoration would have had the camera still looking old, but well maintained. Unfortunately with all the missing bits and the corrosion, that was not an option. On the cheap, I even used leatherette from briefcases that were donated from the store! But give the camera another 100 years and maybe nobody will know the difference from the original Moroccan leather...  By the way, it works!"       -Chuck- volunteer and camera eficianado
