INTO THE UNKNOWN || MULTI ||
Rohan sat at the edge of the woods still trying to fit himself with he bracers the knights costume department, there definitely had been one or two times in the past where they had to infiltrate a renaissance fair but with the little notice of he situation at hand he had to grab a few things that weren't made for him but still would work blending in.
Rohan had called in a few experts of his own to help him, having called Casper, Godwin and anyone else who might be fluent in dungeons and dragons. One of the best things Ava's ancestors had done was turn some of their studies into a game so people knew more than they thought they did
Nimue went the long way around to the village to ensure they wouldn't be seen u til they came upon the village, it wasn't as bad as she expected but still bad. Many buildings were crushed to splinters but the important ones as assumed still stood including the forge. Nimue knew that if there was a trap set anywhere it would be her forge,that's where mab would expect her to go
"alright everyone be alert, if mab has set up any traps for us we need to be aware of them to run away quickly. Mab is going to want to take as many prisoners do she has an army do not go near the forge. My weapons there aren't enchanted and she can have hem,the forge itself will only work for me which means she needs me and likely has the place trapped. Stay far away"
Godwin nodded and went to the leather/ cobbler shop finding a bag of tools and some other necessary equipment that had been asked for. He was stepping out when he heard giggling. His hand went to the dagger when he saw two tiny familiar faces. “Oh no, how did you two get here?”
“Hi Godwin!” The Shakespeare twins waved.
“Hi,” he said looking rather panicked. “Does anyone know you are here?”
“Of course we do,” Callista said as she followed from the same direction the twins had come from. “Where is everyone?”
“We had to leave there was a bad attack, Formorians an army of them it seemed. What are you doing here?”
“It has been a few days in the human world we came to check in.” Callista told him. “Need help?”
“Yeah there is another few bags we could grab and carry.”
Ava had found her way to some home with a garden, she had managed to pull down vegetables when something wrapped around her ankle, instinctually she kicked it throwing the snake into the fence and watching as it turned back into her baby brother
"hi to you too sis" he groaned as Ava glared.
"you idiot! You're lucky I didn't stab you"
“Ava we found you!” The twins came around the corner all giggles and smiles.
Puck came from where he had been and seeing the twins he looked at Ava’s brother. “Oh my God what are they doing here! It is far too dangerous! I was wondering why it was so loud when we are trying to be quite! Here I thought you VanHelsings were so mature and sophisticated yet here the Shakespeare twins are where they could get hurt!”
“Are you not happy to see us Puck?” Kitty asked.
“We just wanna help save Papa and Mim!” Fitz added. “We won’t be any trouble!”
“Trouble? No it isn’t you who are in trouble but I will have words with your Mothers. The Shakespeare’s entrusted the safety of their littles and you have endangered them.”
Callista has crossed her arms. “They were already made up in mind to come there is no stopping them, better to have them with us where we know where they are than back in the human world where Mab may try to get them. Besides we can take them to Titania and Oberon’s court where they will be safe and Aurelia can spend time with them. They followed us and by the time we noticed we were too far from the portal.”
The twins looked at everyone like they were going to cry. “We just wanna help Papa and Mim!”
“And you are very brave for it but this is an adult problem,” Puck told them. “I am happy to see you both but I wish it was under better circumstances.”
"relax puck, Alec wouldn't bring them if he was sure he could take care of them" Ava assured him Alec nodded a bit
"yeah,can't day the same for myself it I'm not dumb, reckless for my own safety but not others. Kind of a big thing in the van Hellsing fam you know?" Alec asked him shaking his head
Nimue came next then
"do you want Mab's entire army to hear us?" She hissed at them
Kitty stared up at Nimue, “wow you’re so pretty!”
Fitz’s eyes went wide much like Kitty’s “ooooh she has a bad ass sword!”
“That’s probably because she is a warrior!” Kitty said making a stance. “I bet Papa would write about her!”
“We should ask him!” Fitz giggled.
Puck sighed, “Nimue, these are the Shakespeare twins.”
“Ooh she is the lady of the Lake!” Kitty grinned. “You’re my hero! Well one of them, can I hug you?”
“I wanna hug you too!” Fitz declared.
Nimue had to take a moment to process all that was being said for a moment and she looked at the new comers before her brain caught up and she shook her head a bit
"ok quick hug," nimue said only because they were little and if their parents were prisoners of mab who knew how long it was since they'd had a proper hug, not that they were being neglected by their caretakers
The twins hugged her warmly, “thank you!”
“When I grow up I wanna kick evil down like you and Mim! Aunty Adrienne, Jules...” Kitty said starting to list off the various femme fatale she knew.
Nimue smiled and nodded a little bit
"we'll get you back to the refugees I think you'll get along with Robin's daughter" nimue told them chuckling a little bit before she looked at puck
"they'll be safe there, surrounded by many eyes to keep track of them and rowan will no doubt keep them busy. I think Harper will enjoy more familiar faces too"
Puck sighed, “and maybe they will give Casper a bit of help with magic.”
“Why does Casper need help with magic?” Callista asked raising a brow.
“He is Merlin.” Godwin informed. “Well the reincarnation that is.”
"it's a very long story and this isn't the place to explain, stay away from the forge and stay near the edge of town if you guys see anything that looks useful take it and we'll be done soon" nimue said still looking around to be sure they weren't being watched
Callista looked to the twins, “let’s go pick some berries over there and wait for every one, stay close.” The twins followed dutifully.
“She is like Mary Poppins.” Godwin shook his head. “But Slavic. As opposed to Crowley who is Hell’s Nanny.”
Callista took out the pendant and examined it, the magic she gained from it came from a previous life.... Perhaps Merlin’s was the same way too.”
Nimue looked at the others gathered
"no more fighting, when you're finished meet up with them so we'll have extra eyes supervising" nimue told them before she headed off again to see what they could grab, she was happy to find one of her daggers so she could bring that back for casper and a few comfort objects for some of the little ones by going through the houses that were still standing and finding sentimental things from the people they weren't vital but they were important for keeping spirits up
When she was done she rejoined the others with callista and robin joined her
Callista helped the twins move along the twins carrying their own blood supply in backpacks. Occasionally Callista would refreeze the block in there that kept it cold. They would need more depending on how long they would be there and fruit would only carry them so far. She wondered how well their Father and Mother faired.
The trek back was longer as they had to keep out of sight and quiet. When they got there the twins looked up at her, “can we take a nap? We have been walking so far...”
“Why don’t you have some of your nourishment liquid then a nap.” Callista told them. “Where can they take a nap?” She asked Nimue.
Casper was oddly working on his magic, like his past life had instructed much to the delight of Rowan.
