Soo as i still havent done my residency at Kingfisher ive been improvising with some of the youth groups at the sports centre where i teach roller skating.

Soo i took some plastercine in and got a bunch of the kids to make me some snakes.

Snake 1- the red, yellow and black one was done by Mia.

Snake 2- the multi coloured snake was made by Zalaka.

Snake 3- the green with yellow dots done by Ben.

Snake 4- the blue, red and yellow was made by Sam.

Snake 5- the pink and red done by Zac.

Snake 6- the orange, white, pink and red made by Zac too.

Snake7- the pink and purple was mafe by Donna.

Snake 8- the mixed multi made by Donna too.

Snake 9- the orange with black spots done by Kirstie.

Snake 10- the pink with white stripes also done by Kirstie.

Theyre great i love em, thanks to all my little helpers :)

Soo today there isnt really a lecture so i'm gonna continue my head as much as possible :) I was doing really well managed to add quite a few extra bits on it until Sam came round looking fir people to attend a talk by Jo Clements at first i didnt want to go but as she was talking about how to progress down an educational route so i went but it went on for ages

I know the pic of the big wheel in manchester is really random but really caught my eye especially with the moody sky behind it.

Like i said yesterday im gonna work really hard on my head today, and boy did i. I have officially stuck everything in and added a lot of extra pieces. It looks awesome, soo pleased with it. Kat suggested to maybe use my snake makeup on the actual head bit in the darker tones so the audience's attention isnt taken away by the bright white polystyrene. Think i may do that when i feel ive completed all the wires and stuff though so i dont smudge it.

Sooo today is my first official day of Printing, dont know how to do anything other than Silk Screen thanks to hannah's recap last week but Ive got my creativity crystal on today so hopefully ill produce some nice images today. Hopefully...

Soo i had finished my screen printing for the day and had been told before dinner that other people wanna use the screen beds which is fine with me as i was gonna stay in the studio and work on my head. But i was in the studio to do the Cyanotype printing. Whilst i was waiting for it to dry i was looking through Samantha's marble blocks and on the bottom of one of them was a scaley pattern i asked sam if i could borrow it to do an embossing.

I did something completely, terribly wrong at the end of today ad i felt really bad, i put a wire spiral through the wrong printing press. By putting it that one i might have ruined the material that covers it. Sooo Sorry!!

Soo i had finished my screen printing for the day and had been told before dinner that other people wanna use the screen beds which is fine with me as i was gonna stay in the studio and work on my head. But after lunch Samantha had talked me into going back in and suggested Cyanotype printing, i asked her how to do it and told me the basics. Hannah gave me a hand and here are some of the prints we got from it.

Cyanotype printing is an old photographic procedure. You mix two chemicals together with water which then makes it light sensitive. You coat the material you want (cartridge isnt that good) put it in the drying cabinate, then take to the washroom on the UV box and put your chosen object on top, then turn the UV light on it exposes the object onto the paper. You then wash the Cyanotype off till all the yellowy green comes off and then put back in the dryer.

Some didnt work the way i expected as they were quite pale but some were actually quite good.

Considering how well i did with the two tone and my rainbow prints i thought one colour printing would be a doddle, turns out its not haha. Nope not at all, you see the biggest image, well that was the one that went the most wrong. The reason it went so completely wrong was because i mixed the paint too early and because i didnt know where the cling film was it had dried a little. Obviously i didnt know otherwise i wouldnt hve done it, but i did; my paper got stuck to the screen and that is why its all white, it ripped and got soo stuck i had to peel the rest off and wash my screen before it blocked it all up. However im gonna do what i always do and make a bad ting good; it actually looks and feels quite cool. It kind of resembles snake skin in a weird way and is actually one of my favourites as its not just visually different but the texture is unique.

Instead of printing with one colour i started straight away with a Two-Tone inspired by Mathers, initially i thought it a big task especially when i havent done it before. But since its my first time anything i do wrong will be a happy accident anything that was wrong but turns out good will be amazing and anything i do well ill be really shocked yet exstatic about.

I began with red and yellow and was hoping for a nice orange blend in the middle. It slightly mixed which i wasn' t happy about, i should have probably blended them a bit before printing. But to be honest they look really nice. I then went on to experimenting with more colours, i only one more official primary colour to add; Blue. When we mix primary colours we get secondary colours of orange, purple and green. Since i already had orange on a few prints i added the blue in between the yellow and red. Which caused a gorgeous blend to form, i ended up with an Aubergine type purple and a light & dark green. The outcome of this set of prints were amazing really happy i jumped in at the deep end; turns out i could swim :) Loved the look of my squeegie couldnt resist washing that and missing my little rainbow.

Prior to today on the 17th when i was ill I researched a Screen Print artist named Dan Mather his work is amazing and the reason i have put him on here for today’s date and not tuesday’s is because he has inspired ideas for my first official printing day (Which is today :D) soo excited

The placement i have arranged for my professional context still havent accepted my request to do my residency there. But i found out on saturday that the headmaster is organising an Easter Ball so he doesnt have time to sort me out, I wish he would have told me sooner. Soo luckily i had a back up, where i teach skating there is a disabled youth group so i took some materials and asked them could i do this little workshop with the group. I wasnt allowed to take photos of them but i was allowed their hands making it. So today i added the finishing touches by threading string through, unfortunately that picture cant be put with these as you can only have a max of 10 images so ill put it straight on...

Ive had quite a bad semester since getting our grades back, ive been soo worried about why i failed rather than working harder this semester to make up for it. But last week i turned that around i was working hard every day, this week i havent been in as much due to me being terribly sick. However,most of you probably dont believe or whatever, but i have been advised to try crystal healing, so at the moment i have my White Opal the stone of Inspiration- enhances the Imagination and Creativity; and i have my Malachite crystal on as it is the stone of Transformation.

I know it sounds daft but i can feel them working already, totally geared up for today. Im still not 100% but ill cope (may need a healing crystal too) hehe. :D :D

Today ive been to a few libraries and been surfing the web to research the artists and ideas Colin and I had in my Tutorial. I think i have a good topic for my essay just need to read up on the people she mentions.
