Daughter (and half-breed) of Imperial Marine Agnes Jen and Kaltri father Kela’a Arii was conceived during the Eastern Offensive after Able Marine Jen was reassigned from the frontlines to enforce martial law on the occupied territories. There she would fall for and illegally marry Kela’a, a male Kaltri within her assigned security district but her service to the Corps of Naval Infantry would soon take her from her bondmate and 9 months later after mustering out of the Corps would give birth to Elenskis Jen, taking her mother’s surname as was Kaltri tradition. Elenskis, unlike most in her situation, would be born with very few visual indications of her non-human heritage besides the red eyes common in the Kaltri people. As such, she was able to easily live life as an Imperial Citizen. Raised just by her mother she would be instilled with a sense of pride in service and would aspire to follow in her mother’s footsteps but during her formative schooling years, she would also develop a passion for xenoarchaeology, becoming enamoured with Kaltri history and culture. After completing senior school, she would apply for and be accepted into Canarvin University where she would graduate with honours in a Bachelor of Xenoarchaeology that would develop two years later into a Masters and finally a Philosophical Doctorate in Xenoarchaeology. Her academic career would come to a halt however as funding and positions for xenoarchaeologist’s became competitive and scarce due to various state and public pressures. Without work, she would finally follow in her mother’s footsteps and enlist in the Corps of Naval Infantry. After medical concerns about her genetics that would be simply dismissed as non-threatening mutations, she would be admitted to the Royal Imperial Military College Zenmeir where she would graduate again with honours before finally graduating from the gruelling Infantry Officer Course and being assigned her first platoon. She would, over the course of her career rise to the rank of Ground Captain, 1st Rank due to a shortage of Field-Grade Officers particularly during the 7th Spiral Offensive and the second year of the Blooding Wars. During her tenure as Commanding Officer of 4th Battalion, 22 Commando, it would be her failure at the Siege of New Leningrad as well as her defence of Chief Starshina Sara Hart and Able Marine Ela Tremblej at their respective General Courts-Martials that would lead to her transfer to the 227th Correctional Battalion where she along with others from her Battalion would be secured by Taskforce Recovery Specialists apart of Recovery Team Sierra and would go onto enlist in the Taskforce Unified Marine Corps [for further documentation refer to file 23-36-41-S1].
Elenskis Jen suffers from a number of emotional issues. Firstly, she holds herself personally responsible for her Battalions multiple strategic and intrapersonal obstacles as well as the fall out that followed the Siege of New Leningrad. Coupled with this, due to the Imperial States unofficial racist attitudes towards non-humans, Elenskis most likely is suffering from internalised racism. Medical examinations have noted the presence of optical damage as a result of field laser pointers in an assumed attempt to erase the red melanin. Elenskis Jen is an exceptional leader, able to instil fear in her subordinates yet lead the way when necessary. Reports from 4/22 Commando confirm that her Marines were uncommonly loyal to her command and her to them. However, since her transfer to the 227th her faith in her own leadership has been shaken. It is not recommended to place her in a leadership position for the foreseeable future. In a Second In Command position she offers her strength of character in the face of adversity. Her calm and sense of regimentation in the face of chaos and her loyalty, rarely given to others.
Thanks to the amazing art by Gabby Ward that made this possible!
