#specteres,      the walking corpse of vione shepard.     independent,  selective  commander shepard  from the mass effect franchise.     as written by jelly,   23 – nzst – they/she. 

inspired by:      frank herbert’s dune saga,   star trek: the next generation (1987–1994),   kim stanley robinson’s aurora & mars trilogy,   the expanse series (both the television adaption &  james s. a. corey’s saga),   star wars rogue one (2016),   interstellar (2015),   the martian (both the film adaption & andy weir’s novel),   deep space nine (1993–1999).     heavily present with themes of:   there is more to this universe then you thought,   man vs machine,   cosmic & space horror,   true vs false death,   being human,   no return missions,   &   the future– i can see it.

i’m going to fully elaborate on this at a later date but one of the most difficult missions for vione [in terms of psychological stress,  rather then physical] is samara’s loyalty mission (the ardat-yakshi) because of how close to home it hits.   the nature of a mother being forced to kill her own daughter for the greater good,  it’s distressing.   her relationship with samara until that point was fairly bland & static but after the loyalty mission,  it does deepen.   samara is someone deeply valued but more importantly,  respected by vione because of her ability to make such a choice [that vione knows she would deeply struggled with].
