Why I love the Addicted characters
Lily Calloway:Ā Sheās a sex addict thatās shy, awkward and adorable. She goes against and breaks multiple stereotypes. Her inner monologues make you smile and laugh. Sheās the kind of character that could easily become your friend. Her character growth is immense (as like the others tbh).
Loren Hale: A sharp shooter, heās not afraid to sling hurtful words to sting you. You only see how warm and loving he is when Lily, his best friend, is around. Otherwise, his defenses are up. But once he letās you into hisĀ āinner circleā, heāll always have your back. His love for Lily has no boundaries.
Rose Calloway: Sheās the character you aspire to be like. Sheās confident, intelligent and independent. She doesnāt care what society thinks of her, and sheās not ashamed of being a virgin at 23. Sheāll threaten the life of anyone that tries to make you feel like a lesser person.
Connor Cobalt: Itās hard to explain why I love him besides the fact that I just do. You canāt put him in a box. Despite being a narcissistic genius, he loves and cares deeply. Heāll do anything to protect his friends and family. Heās like a wall of defense around a village. If he crumbles, everyone is doomed.
Daisy Calloway:Ā āSheās the sun.ā She has the brightest and wildest personality. As the series progresses, you start to realize how selfless she really is. She canāt bear to hurt anyoneās feelings even at the expense of her own. Sheāll do everything in her power just to make you smile.
Ryke Meadows: Donāt be fooled by the ābiteā in his words. He, without a doubt, has the biggest heart. Heās empathetic, protective and respectful. He doesnāt give a fuck about what people think of him and you canāt help but admire him for that feat.
Not only are they amazing characters individually, theyāre incredibly entertaining and wonderful together as a group. Not once do you get the impression that any of theseĀ characters wereĀ just there as a secondary. They are all main characters of this story and they all evoke a multitude of emotions from you. You canāt help but feel like a proud mama/papa bear for their growth and achievements. But at the end of the day, the Addicted series will changeĀ you because the Addicted characters will inspireĀ you. Ā
Itās one thing for authors to write realistic characters but an entirely different story when they bring their characters to life with bonus material, guest posts, and even character takeovers. It gives you the sense that even after the book is closed and you read that āthe endā, their stories continue behind the scenes. The Addicted characters are not confined within the books, they live outside of them as well. And for me, as a reader, my Lilo-loving heart could not be more thankful to Krista and Becca Ritchie for their dedication to their characters and to their fans.
