i keep trying to do little creative writing experiments and they all turn out really odd & unsatisfying. and im 99% sure this is because my two main writing influences for the past five(?) years have been 19th century shit and Posts. for the archetypal 19th century prose stylist, not a single word, i think we all might agree, can pass without being qualified or adjectivized in some manner; so i have an inclination to phrase everything in this dreadfully roundabout manner. but then in a post you want to be snappy: don't take four words to write what can be said in three, punctuation is a suggestion, throw capital letters in where it feels right. so my instinct is to write like if victor hugo was tweeting. which is Bad
