Skyler wanted to explain everything to Spencer, but he couldn’t. Jaime had broken his heart and apparently moved on from him but still wouldn’t be right to talk about the other teen’s disease when he had wanted to keep it private. “No, it doesn’t. We wanted to spend as much time together as we could, while we still could.” More tears gathered on his eyes as he said that, the reality that Jaime didn’t have much time left hitting him hard. “He proposed, while we were at Disney. But it doesn’t make a difference, like I said, we both wanted it.”

“You mean before you went off to college? Skyler that doesn’t even make sense. Going to college didn’t need to mean a break up and it sure as hell didn’t mean you needed to get married. Look how well that turned out.” Maybe Spencer was being too harsh on him- but he was just trying to look out for him and make him realize his mistake. However, when he saw Skyler began to cry even harder he knew he needed to confront Jaime for doing this to him. “So he came up with this brilliant idea and he was the one to fuck it all up.” Spencer was livid. He got up from his seat and grabbed his keys. “Watch after Lucky. I’m gonna go see Jaime.” he said already making his way towards the front door.

Skyler nodded at his brother’s words, but he still felt guilty about leaving Jaime when he was sick. Hearing Spencer repeat what he had said, had his eyes widen in realization and the red headed finally processed that he had spilled their secret. Looking up to meet his brother’s eyes, the teen sighed noticing Spencer didn’t seem too pleased by the news. “Yes, in Vegas. But it wasn’t a impulsive decision, we both really wanted to. At least that’s what it felt like at the time.”

“Wasn’t an impulse decision.” Spencer scoffed at his brother’s words. “The hell it wasn’t. You guys go off on some vacation and come back hitched when you know you’ll be leaving for school soon. That doesn’t sound impulsive to you?” He questioned rather harshly despite the other’s tears. “Whose idea was it anyway? Was it yours?” He wasn’t sure what he wanted the answer to be. If it was Skyler’s idea he’d be hurt that he hadn’t mentioned it to him. If it was Jaime’s he’d be furious that he’d hurt his brother like this after making such a big commitment.

Accepting the box, Sky used a few tissues to wipe his tears. Lucky wanted to help and started licking the model’s face which got a small smile from the teen. “I-I knew I shouldn’t have moved away. Had a bad feeling about it from the start.” Taking another tissue out, he sniffed before blowing his nose. “He seemed committed enough when we got married.” The teen replied, being too heartbroken and upset to fully realize what he had just revealed.

“Skyler you can’t be mad at yourself for going away to college. You trusted him to be faithful while you were away and he broke that trust. That’s not your fault.” Spencer was trying his best to keep calm and comfort his brother, but the more he heard the more he was getting irritated by how easy it appeared to be for Jaime to hurt the person he supposedly loved. Who does that? “Wait...married?” He was caught off guard by his brother’s remark. He looked down at his brother hand and there it was- a shiny band on Skyler’s ring finger. “You got married?!” Spencer wasn’t sure what to be upset about. That his brother got married at such a young age, that his brother got married without telling him at least, or that Jaime would stoop so low as to break that kind of vow.

Skyler just shook his head at Spencer’s words as more tears started falling down his cheeks. “N-not anymore.” Biting his bottom lip and looking down at his fingers, the model waited a bit to make sure his voice wouldn’t break as he spoke before answering the question. “H-he was in bed with someone else. Didn’t even seem guilty about it.”

Spencer reached for the tissue box on the coffee table and handed them over to his brother. He really wasn’t the best when it came to giving advice- let alone about relationships, especially when his last one was disastrous. So he decided to be frank. “Yanno...you two are young and maybe the long distance thing just isn’t working out. Teens fall in and out of love all the time, Sky. Maybe he just isn’t ready to commit so heavily yet, but one day you’ll find someone who is.”

Sky sat down and started wiping his tears away as he waited for his brother to come back. Accepting the glass of water, the model took a small sip from it. “T-thanks.” Next, he followed Spencer’s advice and tried to control his breathing. Lifting one hand up, he started petting Lucky as the puppy went over to him. “Jaime d-doesn’t love me anymore. He s-seems to have moved on while I was in New York. Or e-even before that. Who knows.” He replied, already feeling his eyes tearing up again.

“Moved on? What’re you talking about he’s head over heels for you.” Anyone could see it. Hell Spencer had only been in town for a little while and knew Jaime the least but even he could see it. “Did something happen?” Of course something had happened. Skyler wouldn’t be crying like he is if something hadn’t but he need Skyler to talk to him and open up, and this was the only way he knew how.

Sky just shook his head in response to his brother’s question - to indicate that no, he wasn’t okay - not trusting his voice at the moment. He returned the hug, holding tightly to Spencer and hiding his face on the older male’s shoulder he continuied crying for a while. It felt like the tears would just keep on coming and he wouldn’t be able to stop anytime soon. Letting Spencer guide him inside, Skyler took a deep breath, trying to calm down. His brother looked worried so he should try to explain. “It h-hurts so much, I-want it to stop.” Was all that he was able to get out before new tears stared to fall down.

Spencer sat his brother down on the couch and ran to get him a glass of water. After joining him back in the living room he listened to what his younger brother had to say. He was saying it hurt but Skyler didn’t appear injured. So what exactly was it that was causing him such pain? “Try to calm down.” he said but he knew that that kind of advice never helped, only irritated so he changed his approach. Spencer called Lucky up onto the couch and let the dog rest it’s head on Skyler’s lap since they were known to be therapeutic. “Take deep breaths. Drink some water.” Spencer instructed and waited until Sky looked more at ease. “Okay, now tell me what happened.”

Skyler could faintly hear Jaime calling out to him from the top of the stairs but he was already out of the door by then. The teen didn’t turn back, he started running instead. The model let his feet guide him for a while, just aimlessly moving forward. As he came to a stop, Sky realized he was standing close to Spencer’s place and without thinking twice he walked over the remaining distance. But after knocking on his brother’s door, he couldn’t stop thinking about what had just happened and the tears came back. This time he wasn’t able to stop. Loud, broken sobs were leaving his lips as Spencer finally opened the door for him.

Spencer had closed the flower shop early for the holidays. He was spending the evening playing around the house with Lucky. Good thing too or he would’ve missed Skyler dropping by. Spencer hastily opened the door when he heard what he was sure was crying. Boy was he right but he really hoped he hadn’t been. His first thought was that Skyler was physically hurt from the way he was sobbing. “What’s going on? Are you okay?” he asked, searching for any sight of blood, but when he didn’t see it he embraced his brother in a hug to comfort him. “It’s okay. It’s okay.” he repeated. “Come in.” he said guiding him indoors where Lucky began to jump up to get his attention- already knowing that Skyler loved to play.

Skyler would usually be excited about spending time with his brother but tonight he had mixed feelings. This would probably be the last time he’d see Spencer in a while and being apart from him again just didn’t feel right. Taking one last glance on the mirror, the model fixed his hair and grabbed his wallet and phone before leaving the house. It was a short distance so he decided to walk. As he got there, Sky knocked on his brother’s door and smiled softly at hearing Lucky barking on the other side. When the older male opened it, he grinned. “Hey, did I get here too early? I can help you cook dinner if it’s not ready yet.” He said, walking inside and being instantly greeted by an excited puppy. “Hi, buddy! Missed you as well.” Sky said, laughing softly as Lucky sniffed him thoroughly, no doubt being able to catch Gucci’s scent. @spencer-rhys

“Nope you’re just in time!” Spencer answered, rushing back to the kitchen just as the timer went off. “Looks like the lasagna’s ready.” The male took it out carefully, quite pleased with how well it seemed to have come out. “But if you could set up the table that’d be great.” he called out from behind the kitchen counter, where he watched his little brother playing around with his pup. “No, Jaime tonight?" He asked, only just realized the teen had come alone. Those two were inseparable, Spencer had just assumed he’d be coming along with him that night. “I guess we’ll be having a bunch of left overs.” he chuckled, taking the oven mitts off.
