Restart § Spencer and Valley
She was silent for a while, frowning, thinking. Then she realized, as his words registered, that he was asking. “No, I mean, yes, wait,” she paused confused. Today was not her day. Not that seeing Spencer was a bad thing, but it was like time is pushing her to act fast on her plan. “I mean, sure if you could spare the time,” this time, she sounded more gentle, and not panicked. “I’m heading to the coffee shop a block from the campus, its a nice secluded one, and rather calming for my taste.” Valley wasn’t sure why she said the last part, but she couldn’t get it back now.
Then curiosity struck her. “Why are you here by the way? I mean, I’ve read about the news, and it’s rather hard to take in, especially…” she trailed of, because somehow she thinks Cameron Cobalt’s death is connected to her parents murder and her brother’s disappearance. She sighed. “You know, I’m sure you’re stressed about the recent events, why don’t you join me for a cup of coffee, I’m sure you’ll like the place,” she offered, giving a small smile. If she could know more, she could probably help on the case. It would help her in her personal agenda, in finding answers. “What do you say?”
“Great!” Spencer laughed, taking his keys from his pocket. “Funny thing is was just heading to a coffee shop myself, so I hope you don’t mind if I stay there a little longer; rather than just dropping you off.” Spencer smiled, beginning to walk off, ushering her to follow. “I’m here for the usual stay safe online speeches, but they've asked me to do it you know, with the whole... Gang things.”
Spencer pushed open the door to the letting her step out before himself. He made his way to his police car, opening the boot for her to place her bags inside. “You’ll have to show me the way, of course. I’m more accustomed to the one by the station so I tend to get in the mind set of driving to that one.” Spencer laughed, before opening the driver door, getting himself ready to drive off. “So, um...” Spencer mumbled, he wasn't very good at small talk, but a drive without talk was going to be a little dull; not to mention awkward. ”What do you major in at the college?”
[quickly covers up] Thank you! I’m sorry again for you having to, you know, see me naked and everything.
[laughing while looking around] No, it’s alright. Do you have any idea who, or why someone would do this?
It’s okay. I just hope I don’t come off as the murdering type…
No, no of course you don’t It’s just you can never be too safe, right? Sorry.
Restart § Spencer and Valley
She gripped the strap of her guitar case in one hand, her flute case in the other. She shrugged her shoulder to adjust her backpack full of music books and journals. Walking through hallways full of students is hard work, and she has so many things in her hand, it made her frown and irritable. She even grumbled when a someone accidentally hit her guitar case. Obviously the week’s recent events had taken a toll on her, including the stress from the previous weeks. One can only take too much.
Valley’s classes for the week have ended and the news about a body being found had put her on edge. It brought back memories from two years ago, that she had tried to suppress. The police who was on the report, Spencer, was the one she encountered during her small stunt of taking some files. He was really a good guy, and she couldn’t fault him in that. Maybe she could approach him and ask him of what he knows. She’s still looking for her brother, and maybe he could help her. She just want to find her brother alive, but he could possibly be dead. The thought made her grimace. She needed to think.
When she passed through the doors of the campus, she decided to go to the nearby coffee place, somewhere she could think. It was a good place with many tables and private booths. The campus was wide and she walks very slowly, it was just in the early afternoon and she wasn’t ready to go home. It wasn’t a good week for her, not because of college issues but because of the news and thoughts of her brother. When she looked up recovering from her negative thoughts, she saw Spencer. He was on campus, he was here. She just stood there rooted, her gaze on him. It might look creepy, but she just watched. Unsure if she should approach her now or she should approach him later. Her thoughts was very slow, she didn’t comprehend what happened next.
Spencer shuffled outside the classroom he was in giving his usual speech he gave when teachers asked a member of the police to ‘have a word’ with students, about regular updates on ‘how to be safe’ etcetera, etcetera. It was all a little tiresome, and Spencer was about ready to leave, he could really do with a coffee right now. He searched down the hallways, trying to remember his way out, but he felt a strange tingle on the back of his neck, almost as though he could feel someone watching him.
He turned around slightly, to see if his suspicions where true; and that was when he noticed the girl, Valley if he wasn't mistaken, and it was very hard for Spencer to forget. He thought back to when they first met, when she was asking about her brother, and he began to feel a little guilty, especially since he couldn't help her. He saw she was looking right at him, and felt the need to go ask her if she was alright, and she seemed to be struggling carrying her bags, so he’d at least try to be polite and ask to help, and before he knew it, he was making his way towards her.
“Hello.” Spencer began as he reached her, keeping his eyeline away from her eyes; as he always did. “You’re Valley, right? Do you need some help with your bags?” Spencer asked, raising his brow questioningly. “Or do you need a lift somewhere?” Spencer added, rubbing his hand through the back of his hair, he wasn’t good at these things, but he genuinely wanted to help. Seeing Valley again made Spencer want to amend things, he didn’t want to leave things how he did last time.
That’s still worrisome. That someone would accuse me of murder… Those kinds of rumors aren’t ones that should be spreading. About me or anybody. Especially to the police.
You’re very right. That’s not something to joke about, honestly he should have been arrested for it, but he left so fast, I was so confused.
I’m sorry for ever thinking you would do such a thing.
[blushes a ton] Honestly, it’s a bit embarrassing. I was in our hot tub…and when I got out….they were gone…
[Removing his jacket] Here, cover yourself up a little with this. I’ll help you look for them in the meantime.
