The number of Subnautica 2 theories I have seen that hinge on several major plot points being "placeholders" or "retconned later" is absolutely wild. I'm sorry, the Sea Emperor is in fact native to 4546b. The Cicada did actually crash. The Rosetta Stone was not made by the Architects. This was not all a plot by Alterra to expose 40,000 people to extreme heavy metal poisoning and psychic warfare on an alien planet incompatible with human life. What the fuck are you talking about.

Why do so many people assume the game is lying to them about everything constantly at all times? Why do people look at established characters, timelines, events, locations, and go "I see that, but I don't think it's true, this is Early Access so it'll probably get changed later in a way that specifically supports my absolutely impossible theory." I genuinely do not fucking understand.

Probably a lot of that is some kind of a feeling of being burned by Below Zero's plot changing pretty heavily during Early Access, forgetting exactly why that happened and that those circumstances simply don't apply here. The development process has clearly been very different from that game, and far more stable even with the Krafton debacle.
